Understand what makes a good credit grinder

Credits you make in battle are based on your score, and how much you “spent”.
For a tank to be a good credit maker, it has to be able to achieve a good score often and consistently, have a low resupply cost, and a high credit coefficient.

-The tank has to be statistically a good tank, having good statistics and a playstyle that fits the game meta. You have to be able to do decently in battle to make good credits.

Alternatively just a tank that fits your playstyle and allows you to do well also works.

-Good standard penetration and a fairly accurate gun also help make credits (as you won’t need premium ammo so much).

-Cheap premium ammo also increases credit making ability. You can’t not use premium ammo, its required to win/get a good score, both of which increase your credits. Cheap premium ammo and high standard penetration allow a tank to earn more credits.

-Few expensive consumables & provisions, or at least, not being forced to rely on them, is also very important. Their cost generally isn’t too high (compared to premium ammo), but it does stack up when you count the amount over multiple games.
A tank can have these and make good credits, such as the Chimera. This is because it doesn’t need to rely on them to do well in battle.

-Good credit coefficient is the biggest factor in making credits on a tank. Credit coefficients are now a hidden factor since WG removed tank ammo and repair costs from all vehicles, so its actually impossible to know which tanks have the best ones.
(Old coefficients are now outdated and don’t apply. Hence coefficients on sites like Blitzstars tankcompare are incorrect.)

Choosing the right premium tank

There are hundreds of different tanks which you could choose from for credit grinding.

The best tank for you to grind credits in is a tank you will enjoy, since you will play it often, and you will (should) do well in it.
Even if that tank earns less credits per battle than another tank, you playing it more and enjoying it means that overall you are going to earn more credits in it.

If you’re looking for a specific tank, the true best ones are listed below in this page. Note that ALL tier 8 premium tanks are good credit grinders, just some are particularly suited to making credits.
Tier 8 premiums have a very high average and median for credit coefficient (165%-190%, the highest average in game).

Top credit grinders

Löwe-
The Löwe is the best credit grinder in the game. It has a very high 185% credit coefficient, a very accurate and high penetration gun, and it holds a strong position in the tier 8 meta, allowing it to perform well. The Löwe is easy for newer players to do well in, but also does not limit the more skilled players, making it a tank that can perform well for all players. Its also very cheap to obtain, costing usually only 5.5k gold.
More about the credit earning ability of the Löwe here.

Scepter-
A great gun with a high burst autoloader and high penetration. Its an effective tank with a fitting playstyle in the tier 8 meta. It has a high credit coefficient (currently not known, but based on battle results) which allows this tank to easily make credits, one of the best in tier 8.
It also has extremely cheap premium ammo (1200 credits per shell less than other tanks), further helping it make great credits.

Emil 1951-
A great gun with high penetration, and an effective combination of stats make this both a good tank, and a tank that rarely needs to use premium ammo (its premium ammo is also cheaper than average).
The good 175% credit coefficient means the Emil is still among the best credit earners.

Chimera-
An extremely hard hitting gun with high penetration for a medium, along with a highly effective style of gameplay just make this tank perfect for performing well in. The high penetration means it doesn’t have to use as much premium ammo as other mediums, and even when it does, its premium ammo does increased damage, and is a very cheap shell for its caliber.
The high 175% credit coefficient just amplifies the credit making capabilities.
(Though this has special consumables and provisions, it doesn’t have to rely on them to still perform well in battle)

Keiler-
This is a fairly standard heavy with a simple yet effective playstyle. It has strong frontal and side armour, a very effective 105mm gun with increased damage, and good mobility overall.
The penetration on standard ammo is good, and its premium ammo is cheap for the reload time and alpha it deals.
The tank seems to have a 175% coefficient (unconfirmed), and it makes good credits in battle.

T34 & M6A2E1 EXP
These 2 tanks have lower credit coefficients than the other tanks (170% for T34, 167% for M6 EXP), but they are both great tier 8 tanks with good credit making ability. They can perform well and consistently in battles, but its mainly the extremely high penetration values which allow these 2 to easily pull out big scores and earn great credits without needing premium ammo.

Honorable Mentions

SU-130PM
TDs in tier 8 have lower credit coefficients than other tanks due to their increased firepower and penetration. SU-130PM is currently the only TD in game with a 175% credit coefficient, and its by far the most effective credit grinder for players who love the sniper/support TD playstyle. SU-130PM is one of the best TDs in tier 8, which makes grinding credits quite enjoyable and easy. It also has a very flexible playstyle and it can often double as a well-camouflaged medium tank.

T26E4
The highest credit coefficient in tier 8, at 190%, mean the T26E4 can easily make credits in all of its battles. This tank doesn’t place higher on this list as its not a very strong tank, and its not too enjoyable to play. The tank also has expensive premium ammo considering its alpha and reload time.
It doesn’t perform nearly as well as other tanks in this list, so and often will make the same or lower amount of credits for that reason.

T-34-85 Victory-
A copy of the T-34-85, its a tank that does work well in battles. With a very high 182% credit coefficient, its by far the best coefficient in tier 6. It can make very good credits for its tier, even with fairly average scores. Note that this tank has poor standard penetration, so it may need to use premium ammunition more than other tanks, however its premium ammo is fairly cheap at 2,400 credits per shot.

Type 3 Chi-Nu Kai-
The 2nd highest credit coefficient in game at 226% means that the Chi-Nu Kai can pretty much make credits without even trying. Its great penetration also allows it to effectively rack up damage without spending credits on premium ammo.
It doesn’t place higher on this list as it is a tier 5 tank, and it just can’t earn as much as a good tier 8 can due to not being able to achieve as much damage/xp/assistance as the higher tier premiums can. Its also just a fairly average tank.

Angry Connor-
With the highest credit coefficient in game, the Angry Connor really doesn’t need to do much to turn a profit. It also has a highly effective gun, with both the best penetration and the best DPM in tier 5; compounded by a 230% credit coefficient, it should place higher on this list, right?
The reason the Angry Connor places so low on this list is its playstyle. Its a sniping TD that needs time on target, not a playstyle that really suit the Blitz meta. Not only that, but it also has to drive backwards, as the 17pdr gun is mounted backwards on a Valentine hull; which wouldn’t be a problem if it had a turret, but its a turretless TD. The tank is also at tier 5, so just like the Chi-Nu Kai, it can’t achieve high scores like tier 8 tanks can, causing its earnings to still be less than a good tier 8 premium.

Credit grinders for newer players

Newer players will find it harder to do well in the true best credit grinders (Scepter, Emil 1951, Chimera, etc), but there are some good alternatives with still a very high credit earning capability, but much easier to play and more forgiving if making a mistake in battle.

Löwe-
This was mentioned above for why it makes such great credits. There is also a more in-depth explanation here.
Its a strong tank which is quite easy and simple to use, and its fairly forgiving thanks to good armour, gun depression, and a great gun. It makes the best credits in game, and is also new player friendly.

M6A2E1 EXP-
Having very comfortable stats for a newer player, the M6 EXP is very easy to play. -10 gun depression, exceptional levels of penetration, great frontal armour and a decent turret, and an overall good gun. It has a simple playstyle and has a 167% credit coefficient.

Obj.252U-
This is forgiving tank with a simple playstyle. Its strong armour allows the player to get away with a lot, while its decent 122mm gun with good penetration allows it to quite reliably get damage and make credits. It has a 170% credit coefficient, which isn’t bad.

KV-5-
A very strong tank with some of the most resilient armour in tier 8. KV-5 has such amazing armour on every part of its hull and turret that its arguably the most noob-proof tier 8 tank. It also has quite a good gun and mobility.
Its accuracy is quite poor, and standard & premium penetration are not great, so it doesn’t place higher on this list, even though its armour is just stupidly good.

Tier 9-10 credit grinders

The best credit earners in game are tier 8 tanks.
The worst tier 8 credit grinder will still earn more credits than the highest credit earner of any other tier, just down to tier 8 having such a high average and median in credit coefficients (165% at lowest).

Tier 9-10 tanks (non-tech tree) have an enriched credit coefficient, meaning they make between 130-150% in credits.
-Yes they can achieve higher damage and assistance in battle.
-Yes the battle medals they earn bring more credits.

But…
-They have much higher premium ammunition costs, and tier 10 tanks also generally have to use much more of it.
-Their consumables and provisions also cost quite a bit more than lower tier tanks.
-They don’t have premium credit coefficients, so just won’t earn as much.

Though, some players may just never want to play tier 8; and for those players it will be more worth it to buy a tier 9-10 tank for credit grinding.
Its always better to buy a tank you will actually play, rather than one that’s “considered good” but you never play.

T95E6-
This is the only tank in tier 9-10 with a 150% credit coefficient. This means it just makes 10% more credits than any other tanks in these tiers. Its a very good tank and can perform well easily, but it does require a decent level of skill to do well.
Its only real downside is that its premium ammo costs about 10% more than average, other than this it has good standard penetration and a nice gun to farm.

Chieftain Mk.6-
With a very effective gun for damage dealing and farming, the Chieftain can quite often make some of the best credits for a 140% coefficient tank. Its accurate, has HESH, and has premium ammo with increased damage.
Its premium ammo cost is just average, but its penetration is poor for a tier 10. This tank requires skilful gameplay to really be effective in, same for making credits.

Super Conqueror-
A great heavy tank with the “standard” heavy tank characteristics and playstyle. It has good penetration, with average premium ammo cost, and it also gets HESH to deal more effective damage.
It has a 140% credit coefficient but is still among the better grinders (9-10) due to its all-round nature and ability to do well in nearly any scenario.
