Controls/settings for mobile

Same control mode:
This is only available for mobile players. Turning this off puts you in a battle queue with both players on mobile devices and players on a PC device. Turning this on puts you in a battle queue with only mobile players.

If you face long queue times, turning this off will find a battle faster, since more players are added to the queue.

Auto-aim:
There are 4 options for this, the best one is “activated by button”.

Choosing button activation causes an additional button to be added to your screen, but is really helpful in situations where you may want to turn off auto-aim tracking.

For example, if you’re watching a corner, auto-aim tracking can cause you to mess up your shot on a moving target, since the enemy movement would drag your aim circle with them. So if the enemy pokes around the corner, then pulls back, your aim circle would follow them, rather than just staying in one spot (this is a specific situation where you need the aim circle to not follow the tank movement, since they are hiding behind cover).

Dynamic joystick:
This setting chooses the joystick type for your device. Its probably best to try out all 3 to see which one would suit your preferrence.

Fixed joystick-
This option stays in one position on your screen and doesn’t move.

Dynamic joystick-
This option is “invisible” until you click the touch. Once you touch the screen, the joystick center appears at the position where you touched (not fixed to one spot on the screen).

Hybrid joystick-
This option is visible on screen, but not fixed. Once you touch the screen, the joystick center appears at the position where you touched (not fixed to one spot on the screen).

Ammo bar:
Enabling this option will keep the ammo bar “popped out” once you click it during battle. This makes changing shells quickly much easier since you only have to make 1 click rather than 2.

Having this option turned off means that the ammo bar will close after you select a different shell, and you’ll need to re-open it again to change shells.

Lookout area:
This adds a bar to the bottom of your screen, holding down on this bar and moving it around will let you look around without turning the tank’s turret. Letting go of the lookout bar allows the turret to turn again.

Basically it fixes your turret in place while letting you look at your surroundings, on tanks without turrets, it stops your tank from turning the hull while you look around.

This is helpful for situational awareness in battle, but while still keeping your gun aimed towards then direction of enemies.

Left handed controls:
Flip consumables and “Left-handed” option are both for left-handed players. These swap the position of consumables, joystick, and the fire button to the opposite side of the screen.

Tank auto-turn:
When you move the camera (look around), the tank’s hull will turn automatically with your camera movement (only happens if you aren’t controlling the tank with the joystick).

This is generally not a good option to have enabled, there are situations where you want to have the hull facing a different direction than your camera, such as if you want to set up a shot behind you, but want your hull facing away to run away from that position quickly.

The constant hull movement of this setting also worsens your tank’s accuracy due to dispersion-on-movement (gun handling).

Reloading autoloader magazines:
Do this by double tapping the current shell you have loaded. If you are shooting AP, then open the ammo bar, and click the AP shell twice in quick succession.

This is much better than shooting the shell at nothing to reload the magazine, since you can reload at any time, and don’t have to wait for your intra clip, and it also won’t lower your accuracy ration.

Touch controls editor:

This allows you to partially customize your controls, enabling you to change the size and choose the position of these buttons:
-Joystick (locked to only the bottom left of the screen, or bottom right if using left-handed controls)
-Fire buttons
-Ribbon placement
-Sniper mode button
-Quick commands button
-Auto-aim enabling button
-Consumable/ability bar
-Ammo bar
-Tank movement icon (the miniature blue tank that shows up in sniper mode).

Some are partially locked to either one side or one portion of the screen, and the flexibility of where these buttons can be moved varies with different devices.

Controls/settings for PC

Keybinds:
Keybinds on PC devices are fully custom, so you can change them to anything you prefer. Its good to go through the list of controls to see which key does what and understand the controls if its your first time playing Blitz on a PC.

Its also good to customize and change the keybinds to controls that you are comfortable with, since the default keys won’t always suit every player.

Automatic zoom:
Enabling this option gives you the same zoom settings as a mobile device, which is that the camera automatically zooms in to enemy tanks you are aimed at.

Disabling this option allows you to zoom in manually, with 3 levels of zoom, which you can choose how close you zoom with the mouse scroll wheel.

Mouse sensitivity:
This setting determines by how much your camera moves with your mouse’s movements.

Increasing the slider will make your camera move further/more, with less mouse movement; and decreasing the slider will make you camera move less with the same amount of movement.

Minimap size:
This can be adjusted either in the HUD settings, or with the keybinded keys during a battle.

It’s best to have the minimap on the largest size, due to its size being so limited as default. A larger minimap lets you see team and enemy movements easier and will help you with map awareness.

Freecam controls:
On PC devices, if you watch a replay, or a made a spectator in a training or tournament room, you can use freecam. These keybinds cannot be changed.

C – Enter or exit freecam
WASD – Camera Movement
Scrollwheel – Zoom in/out
1-9 keys – Camera speed
Q/E – Go up/down

Controls/settings for both

Enable these settings:
-Rangefinder
-Reload timer
-Reload icon in the team list
-Minimap

These help with situational awareness in the game (minimap, reload timer, reload in team list), and help you to better understand the team’s situation. The distance from you to the enemy (rangefinder) is useful information for spotting mechanics and for tanks with lower velocity shells.

Movement direction indicators:
These are green arrows that appear on the ground around your tank, indicating the direction that you are moving in relation to your device control.

These are useful if you have a smaller device, or are on a new device and haven’t gotten used to the controls. If you’re already used to your device then this setting isn’t very necessary.

Graphics:
Choose right graphics, if your graphics are set too high, the game is more likely to lag and drop FPS, which makes it harder to play well.

Some settings which are particularly taxing on your device and frames are:
-Shadows
-“High” tank quality
-“High” object & terrain quality
-Water settings
-High settings on anti-aliasing

If you game drops frames (different to ping lag), then consider lowering some of these settings.

Shot result:
This is the icon that comes up when you damage an enemy module.

-Hidden setting will not show any additional icons compared to a regular damaging shot.
-Icon setting will display only the icon related to your shot result (so if you hit the tracks, a track icon will show).
-Full setting will display both the icon and the text related to your shot result (so hitting a track would display a track icon and also the words “Track crit”).

Attention to sector:
Enabling this setting will allow you to click the map and highlight one of the 9 map sectors (maps are split into a 3×3 grid).

On mobile devices you can just click the map, on PC devices you need to first release the cursor by pressing control (ctrl), then using the mouse cursor to click the minimap.

This setting is very useful for communicating with the team without needing to type in the chat.

Ribbons:
Ribbons pop up during the battle for in-battle achievements. They can help you to keep track of your damage dealt, damage blocked, damage assisted, etc.

Inverted settings:
These basically revert movement and controls in game. There isn’t any reason to use these unless you just prefer such settings. Most players will find this really messes up their aim and movement in battle.
