Definition

Destructible/shootable objects are “map decorations” that can be destroyed by shooting at them directly with any shell. If you shoot HE at the ground and the object gets destroyed (for example trees), that doesn’t count; and this is an important differentiation.

Examples of destructible objects:
Metal/wooden shacks
Scrap fences
AA guns
Boxes
Cars/trucks
Log stacks
Brick walls

These highlighted buildings are destructible, but are segmented. As you can see, they are split into 2 halves, each half worth 25mm.
These scrap fences are also destructible objects.

Why is this important?

These objects take 25mm of penetration off AP and APCR shell’s penetration, and absorb HEAT and HE shells.

If you are really desperate in a battle, you can hide behind these objects and hope that the enemy doesn’t penetrate you.

This image shows a T-100 LT shooting across Canal from the supremacy base B area towards base A.

The T-100 LT has 240mm AP penetration, and it passes through these items shown in the image, which take off a total of 125mm of its penetration.
By the time the shell hits the enemy, it only has 115mm of penetration (not accounting for penetration drop-off)

Exceptions

-Some items are “destructible”, but not shootable. These items (such as haybales, desert tents, and the fence shown here) do not make your shell lose penetration.

-Your shell will pass right through them and hit the other side. Even HEAT and HE can do this.

-Most map decorations do make you lose penetration for shooting through them though, so its best to not take chances if you aren’t sure.
