Using ridgelines without gun depression

This guide is generally for tanks with -5 to -6 degrees of gun depression. This guide works for all turreted tanks, but its ideal when the turret is mounted quite far forward on the tank, that way it exposes its hull less.

Many tanks don’t have good gun depression, but these tanks can still use ridgelines to go hulldown and get shots off on their enemies.

How to properly use ridges with poor gun depression: (images below)
Don’t drive up the ridge/hill with your hull faced forwards. If your hull is perpendicular to the ridge, it props your turret upwards; Drive parallel to the ridge. This will allow you to shoot over it, while exposing only your turret.

This won’t work on all ridges, as some of them don’t have enough space to go parallel, or its just not practical to do so. However this will help you to use more ridgelines, as if you just drive with your hull towards the ridge, you won’t be able to use any ridgelines.

Inorrect way to use this method

The image above is the incorrect way of using this method for poor gun depression tanks.
This image shows the tank driving up to the ridge more at a perpendicular angle, rather than the ideal parallel angle.

The image below is the correct way of using this method. It allows the tank to depress its gun as the tank’s hull isn’t being pushed up perpendicularly.
