Armour

vs 160mm AP
-Upper plate 170mm (weakpoints 110mm)
-Middle plate 130mm
-Lower plate 420mm+

-Turret 160-185mm

vs 160mm AP
-Upper plate 195mm (weakpoints 130mm)
-Middle plate 150mm
-Lower plate 490mm+

-Upper side armour 420mm+
-Lower side armour 130mm (autoricochet angle)

vs 208mm APCR

VS tier 6:
When against tier 6 tanks, this tank’s frontal armour is basically as good as a heavy tank. The only weakpoint will be the middle armour plate where the armour is about 130mm thick.
All tier 6 tanks (that are not TDs) will need premium ammo to penetrate the Hafen’s upper plate and turret.

VS tier 7:
-In tier 7, if you are facing medium tanks they will only be able to penetrate the middle plate. Other than the T-34-100, every tier 7 medium and light tank will need premium ammo to penetrate the Hafen’s upper plate or turret.

-Most tier 7 heavy tanks can penetrate the Hafen’s upper plate if its not angled. However if it is angled then even the heavy tanks will need premium ammo to go through the tank.
Look at the 3rd image above, the tank is still strong against 208mm APCR penetration.

VS tier 8:
-In tier 8 battles, play it like it doesn’t have armour, because it doesn’t. You may get a few odd bounces on the upper plate and its very strong sides, but unlike in tier 6-7, the armour cant be relied on.

vs 208mm APCR
-Hafen has 120mm of armour on its upper sides, which means it will still appear red even when angled like this.
-This is just troll though, its not reliable. The lower sides are only 50mm thick so they can be easily penetrated

Gun

The Hafen mounts an 82mm gun
-Reload time is 4.6s and damage is 190, giving it 2462 DPM
-Penetration is 145/195/45 on AP, APCR, and HE
-Aim time is 3.2s/3.4s and dispersion is 0.335/0.301 depending on equipment.
Gun handling is below average for its alpha, having 0.15/0.15/0.08, with vertical stabilizer it can go down to 0.13/0.13/0.07
-Gun depression is -7, not the best but its definitely usable.

The gun is fast firing with decent DPM. The pen is a bit lacking but that’s not unusual with tier 7 mediums. Aim time, dispersion, and handling are all decent but not too impressive.

Mobility

-Top speed is great with 52km/h, reverse speed is the usual -20km/h
-Acceleration is very good with 24.3hp/t on hard terrain and 20.2hp/t on medium terrain.
-Traverse speed also great, at 63.9 deg/s on hard terrain, and 53.2 deg/s on medium terrain.
Terrain resistances are decent, with 1.1/1.2/1.6

Equipment, provisions, & consumables

Hafen has no special consumables/provisions

Enhanced armour:
Due to having well angled armour, along with a decent thickness of 120/100mm, the Hafen will benefit from using enhanced armour. the main special point of this tank is that it has some armour, so you may as well make it better to be even stronger in top tier battles.

Vertical Stabilizer:
The Hafen already has great dispersion of 0.335, so that doesn’t need improving. Its gun handling is not the most impressive, so vertical stabilizer is needed to improve it. The Hafen isn’t a tank that sits still for long, so it needs good gun handling.

Gameplay advice

When you are top tier and facing against only tier 6-7 tanks, you can play this tank quite aggressively. It will have great armour, and if you keep the tank wiggling and moving it will make it very hard for enemies to hit the weakpoints.
Use the fast reload of the tank to overwhelm enemies with its good DPM, and whenever possible use gun depression or hulldown positions to hold enemies back and make your armour stronger.

If you are playing against tier 7-8 tanks, you need to play more cautiously. While the Hafen still has great DPM against tier 8 enemies, it will struggle to penetrate. The armour also won’t hold up as well so you need to use the mobility as an advantage to flank enemies.

Overall

Hafen is a very unique tank. It has a gun with a middle-ground alpha of 190, decent accuracy, great mobility, and very good armour when top tier.

Is it worth getting?

While the Hafen is a good tank, it may not be for everyone. Usually tier 7 mediums aren’t the easiest to play with their low alpha, fast reload, and low pen. If you think that this is the kind of tank you will enjoy then yes its worth it.
The tank is never sold for gold and can only be bought with real currency.
