IS-2 1945

IS-2 1945 is a typical tier 7 122mm heavy tank, it has good armour, decent mobility, and a decent gun.

Armour

VS tier 6:
-Frontally the only waypoints will be the lower plate and turret hatch. The side armour is strong but due to how its angled its not easy to sidescrape.
VS tier 7:
-Tier 7 enemies will find the same as tier 6, the upper plate is very strong (even against premium ammo). To tier 7 tanks there’s an additional small weakpoint on the left of the gun, but since the hatch is a larger target there’s not many situations where this gets aimed for.

VS tier 8:
-In battles with tier 8s, most heavy tanks will be able to penetrate the upper plate if its flat and unangled, however if its angled slightly they will struggle more. Most mediums and lights can’t penetrate the upper plate either, however the lower plate and hatch are still huge weakpoints.

Gun

IS-2 has a typical Russian 122mm gun
-Reload time is 12.6s, damage is 400, giving it 1900 DPM
-Penetration on AP is 175mm, Premium AP is 217mm, and HE is 61mm.
-Aim time is 5.4/5.8s and dispersion is 0.359/0.398 depending on equipment. Both are fairly average.
–Gun handling is poor, having 0.22/0.22/0.18 or with vertical stabilizer its 0.19/0.19/0.15

The gun aims for slightly longer than its competitors, but this is not a huge difference. The rest of the stats are almost exactly identical to its IS, IS-2, and other 400 alpha heavy tanks.

Mobility

-Top speeds are decent but not amazing, with 34km/h forwards and -12km/h in reverse
-Acceleration is very impressive with 17.7hp/t on hard terrain and 14.8hp/t on medium terrain
-Traverse speed is good at 36 deg/s on hard terrain and 30 deg/s on medium terrain.
–Terrain resistances are very good with 1/1.2/1.6

Equipment, provisions, & consumables

IS-2 (1945) has no special provisions or consumables.

Improved Control:
Since the IS-2 has great acceleration with a fairly average 34km top speed, improving the traverse speed would benefit the tank more than improving the acceleration. The IS-2 can quickly cap out at its top speed even without the Engine Accelerator.

Of course take Vertical Stabilizer and Coated Optics, essential equipment pieces on any heavy tank.

Overall

The IS-2 is a great tank. Hull armour is good, acceleration is great, with a decent top speed and traverse, and the gun is decent for 400 alpha. It may not be as competitive as some other tankc, but its certainly not bad or weak.

Is it worth getting?

IS-2 1945 is overshadowed by tanks like the Lycan and IS-2 Pravda, which just have better stats. Though those two are never sold for gold, so the IS-2 1945 being quite a cheap premium, is a good alternative.

4k gold is an average price of this tank, don’t pay more than that.
