Armour
(The 113G FT in the images is using Enhanced Armour)

When flat and facing head-on:
Upper superstructure 325-340mm (weakest area 315mm)
Mid angled plate 370-380mm
Lower plate 225-230mm
Gun mantlet 550-2000mm+ (330-340mm on outer edges)
Cupola 130-810mm
-Due to small size and quite odd armour modelling, its not worth shooting the cupola. Its very easy to miss, and even if you hit, there a high chance of bouncing off the top.
-Note the odd triangle with less armour thickness (right above the mid plate), this is the weakest area, 325mm. When referred to in the review, the “weak area” on the upper plate is talking about this triangle area.
Using -6 gun depression:
Though there’s no image, its pretty easy to imagine what it looks like when using gun depression, and as the tank’s front is largely just a few flat plates, all that changes is how much penetration is needed.
When using -6 gun depression:
Upper superstructure 355-375mm (weak area 345mm)
Mid plate 490-500mm
Gun mantlet outer edges 370-385mm (rest is same as above)
The below analysis is as though you don’t use enhanced armour, as that is its “standard” configuration. Enhanced armour adds roughly 10mm of armour to every area of the tank’s front.
Armour vs tier 9:
No tier 9 tank (including TDs) is able to penetrate the upper superstructure with standard ammo. Only premium ammo from tier 9 HT (only with the highest penetration, or using calibrated shells) and TDs will be able to penetrate the front.
MT and LT won’t even be able to penetrate with premium ammo.
Armour vs tier 10:
Again, most tanks in tier 10 are unable to penetrate the upper superstructure using standard ammo. The only tanks which can are TDs with very high standard penetration.
Most HT can’t reliably penetrate the tank’s front even with premium ammo (especially if its turned or angled slightly). For heavies to be able to penetrate, they will need either very high penetration premium ammo, or be using calibrated shells. MT and LT have no chance of penetrating the tank’s front unless using calibrated shells and looking down on the tank slightly.
Gun
The 113G FT mounts a 152.4mm gun
-Alpha damage is 640 on AP, 550 on HEAT, and 960 on HE
-It has an 12.6s reload, giving it 3040 DPM
-Penetration on AP is 278mm, HEAT is 365mm, and HE is 90mm.
–Estimated aim time is 3.4/3.7s.
–Base aim time is 2.1s, but it can get down to 1.71s.
-Dispersion is 0.344/0.310
–Gun handling is 0.19/0.15/0.12, or 0.16/0.13/0.1 with Vertical Stabilizer.
-Gun depression is -6 degrees
-Turret traverse arc is 12 degrees to the left and 12 degrees to the right.
Overall this is a great gun. It has a fairly quick reload for its alpha, with great penetration on all 3 shell types. The gun handling is very good for a TD, especially considering the fast traverse speed of this tank. Dispersion is average, but aim time is very good.
-6 gun depression may seem poor but its not, since the gun is actually not mounted very high off the ground, and its mounted so far forward. Gun depression is rarely ever an issue in battle. The gun also has a good arc left and right, making it fairly flexible.
Mobility
-Top speed is 42 km/h forwards, and -16 km/h in reverse
-Traverse speed is 47 deg/s on hard terrain, and 36.2 deg/s on medium terrain.
-In game acceleration rate is shown as 18.3 hp/t, it has strong 1006hp engine for its 55 ton weight.
-Actual acceleration rate is 18.3 hp/t on hard terrain, and 14.1 hp/t on medium terrain.
–Terrain resistances are 1/1.3/2
Considering the strong armour profile of the 113G FT, this is great mobility. The top speed and reverse speed are both good, with a very good acceleration rate and high traverse speed.
This good traverse makes the 113G FT an extremely dangerous tank, as its able to constantly wiggle and angle to increase its armour. It also stops enemy tanks from circling around and getting the sides or rear easily.
Equipment, provisions, & consumables
The 113G FT tech tree (tiers 7-10) gets sandbag armour and reactive armour for special consumables and provisions.
113G FT should use these consumables:
Adrenaline – For intense situations and increased damage capability
Large repair kit – For tank maintenance in battle
Reactive armour – For intense situations, if enemies rush your tank, if you get into a 1v1, etc. This will help your tank survive more hits.
And these provisions:
10% food – Essential for all important stats on your tank, DPM, reload, traverse speed, view range, etc.
10% fuel – Greatly improves the mobility of your tank and is vital on most tanks.
6% sandbag armour – This is just a free 120 HP for your tank, it can allow you to use enhanced armour while still having increased HP; or you can stack it with improved assembly for 2240 total HP.
Gun Rammer:
No tier 10 TD needs to use calibrated shells, none lack penetration, and its just completely unnecessary. The 113G FT is no exception, so it just doesn’t need calibrated shells, it can easily penetrate nearly everything with its proper TD penetration.
Gun rammer is far more useful, as it will support the flexible gameplay of the 113G FT. When on the frontline or 2nd line, there is usually high pressure on quick reloading, as the battle situation can change fast.
Using gun rammer would decrease the reload time from 13.6s to 12.6s, and increase DPM from 2827 to 3040.
Camouflage net:
Though the 113G FT is often on the frontlines, or supporting from the 2nd line, the camo advantage from using camo net is still very helpful to the tank’s playstyle. It has the 2nd highest camo rating among TDs in tier 10, and it can be really useful for crossing positions or just staying concealed from a position.
As a TD you shouldn’t need to spot enemies for yourself, and even when using improved optics, you won’t have enough view range to out-spot most MT and LT.
With a level 7 camouflage crew skill, the camo rating of the 113G FT is 65% when stationary, 48% when moving, and 9% after a shot.
Enhanced Armour:
The 113G FT is very much an armour focused tank.
As the 113G FT has such good armour, enhanced armour will greatly benefit it:
-Upper superstructure from 325 to 335mm (from 315 up to 325mm at weakest point)
-Mid plate from 370 to 385mm
-Lower plate from 225 to 235mm
113G FT already has an above average amount of base HP, at 2000. You can also increase it to 2120 since the tank has access to sandbag armour, so improved assembly is definitely not needed. Bouncing even one more shot far outweighs the HP you gain from improved assembly.

Vertical Stabilizer:
The 113 G FT should not be sniping in battles to be most effective. For it to work very well, it needs to play actively and support allies on the front and 2nd lines.
For this reason the tank tank is not often sat still at long range just aiming its shots in, and therefore refined gun does not at all benefit the 113G FT. Its far better to use vertical stabilizer, which allows the tank to be much more consistent and accurate while its moving and in mid and close range combat.
Also considering the very high traverse speed of this tank, it feels the full effect of the gun’s bloom when turning, another reason that it needs vertical stabilizer.
Gameplay advice
The 113G FT is an active supporting TD. It can support either the HT or the MT side due to its great versatility, but generally is best on the HT side of the map.
General gameplay:
The 113GFT can either be a frontline or 2nd line tank destroyer. It should never snipe, as this tank is just far too capable in other positions, sniping would waste the tank’s abilities. You’re more likely to lose more battles by playing a sniping role in this tank, compared to being active.
Push up to the frontline (or 2nd line) of a flank. On the frontline, basically play as a heavy tank, use the strong armour and gun to trade damage and block shots, hulldown where possible, and angle and wiggle the tank. Always try to keep the front armour to enemies, and use the reactive armour consumable when you know you’ll take a few shots from enemies.
The 2nd line is a more comfortable position if you aren’t confident brawling with heavies on the frontline, since you can still support the frontline while generally not being the priority target.
Playing from the 2nd line:
(A 2nd line position is any position that is quite close to the frontline and is able to support the tanks that fight on the frontline. Generally there’s some form of cover in that 2nd line position which will help your tank to hide.
These positions are not “sniping positions”, as you are able to easily and quickly push forward and help the frontline tanks on your team. Sniping positions are generally much further away from the frontline.)
From the 2nd line, you are able to assess the early battle situation without putting yourself right into the immediate danger.
You shouldn’t take the tank to the frontline, as even though it does have good armour, its HP is not high like a heavy tank, and it can be overwhelmed by multiple enemies. It is the job of MT and HT to go to the frontlines and take the hits, so stay back on the 2nd line.
2nd line positions can sometimes offer shots which enemies may expect, as sometimes enemies are more expecting you to be in a sniper position.
Having good mobility allows the 113G FT to easily push up from its 2nd line support position and onto the frontline.
You should do this when you notice that you can help your frontline allies push and overwhelm the enemy tanks, or if you feel that pushing will help you to win this side of the map.
The strong frontal armour will allow the 113G FT to be quite reliable and able to block shots while its on the frontline; but most importantly the 113G FT is able to use its big TD gun help win the engagement against enemy tanks.
Knowing when to push up and play a more active role is a vital part of winning battles in any TD. TDs are a support class by nature, so if you’re able to push at the right times in battle, you can really change the outcome easily.
Use reactive armour:
Reactive armour is a consumable for frontline use. Its best used when you know you are about to take damage from enemies. Usually this is when you are within close rage to them, or if there are multiple enemies who may shoot you.
Reactive armour will take away 20% of the enemy’s alpha damage when they penetrate your tank, sometimes it can deter enemies from pushing you, and it will always help your tank to survive longer in battles. This consumable can help to win battles in late-game scenarios, and its an advantage that you definitely should be using.
Facehugging:
The 113G FT can facehug enemies if its in a desperate situation. The large and thick gun mantlet, along with great traverse speed allow the tank to easily just shove the mantlet in the face of enemies. This makes it much harder to penetrate than you would expect, as the mantlet does take up such a large area of the tank’s front and the enemy’s view.
This does require you to be quite close to enemies in the first place, and you do have to quite carefully watch the enemy’s gun. Always try to keep the tank turned so that the mantlet is covering where the enemy is trying to aim. The traverse speed and mantlet side make this quite easy to do.
Don’t rush shots:
While the 113G FT relatively accurate, it does have to aim a bit if it wants to be reliable with each shot, this is due to its very quick aim time, but fairly average level of gun dispersion.
Snap shots do work on this tank, but note that taking snap shots is not a reliable way to play, and should only be done in a desperate situation, or if an enemy is about to duck behind cover.
As the 113G FT is often quite active, and constantly turning the hull (as it has no turret, and its strong armour is at the front), it will not often have the opportunity to just sit in a bush and have the time to fully aim in. The 113G FT’s aim time is not bad, and handling is good, so even when being active on the battlefield you generally won’t have to aim for too long, but it is good to make sure your shots are likely to hit.
Angle the armour:
When playing this tank, your should angle and wiggle the hull. As shown here, you can over-angle by quite a lot and still bounce off the upper side armour.
You can over-angle the armour, as shown below.

vs 257mm AP
Be careful not to angle too far, as its a very fine line between bouncing and getting penetrated, shown here.
The 113G FT is essentially just an all-purpose TD, it can really do anything on the battlefield. Its best suited to 2nd line and frontline support, where its able to use its great armour and mobility to help its allies dominate positions, and use its proper TD gun to quickly wipe out enemies.
Tank gameplay:
Overall
Armour – 8.5/10
Gun – 8/10
Mobility – 8/10
Speed – 6.5/10
113G FT is overall a very strong tank.
Armour is very strong, the front is impenetrable to standard ammo, and only high penetration premium ammo can contest it. Armour is easily usable with angling, HE protection is high, HESH protection is low.
Gun is the perfect combination. It has great aim time, good gun handling, and average dispersion; but the perfect combination of 640 alpha, proper TD level penetration, and a good reload time and DPM.
Mobility is very good. The engine power and acceleration rates are both very good, with similarly good traverse speed. Reverse speed is a good -16km/h.
Speed is good at 42km/h.
Is it worth grinding?
The 113G FT is definitely worth grinding. It has stats that every type of player can find enjoyable, and its a very strong and good tank in battle.
For its characteristics and what the tank offers, its definitely the most versatile tier 10 TD. It can easily block damage, it can trade damage, it has good DPM, it aims quick, its very mobile for its armour, its got high camo rating, it can brawl against both heavy and medium tanks, etc, etc.
Its one of the few TDs that can actually just fill any battle role.
Its not really comparable to any other tier 10 TD, as none have quite the versatility and strength of the 113G FT. Its truly a unique tank in that aspect, that it just has quite a bit of everything.
113G FT is a niche tournament-meta tank.
The 113G FT is a competitive and strong vehicle with a viable use and place in tournaments. To use a TD effectively in tournaments, it must be used by a good player, and the team must support the TD. The only reason you would take a TD would be its increased firepower, so while the 113G FT is well-armoured with decent HP, it still needs to be your team’s HT who are ready to cover you with their higher durability.
In top competitive rounds, it will not be used much, as higher survivability (HP, armour) and flexibility (turret) are preferred over an effective TD gun.
If you can survive longer, you have the ability to influence the battle longer, even if you don’t have super effective firepower (which is what TDs offer).

Tech tree overview
To get to the 113G FT, you need to grind through the Chinese low tier medium and light tanks, at tier 6 switching to the Chinese TDs.
All the tanks in the line have fairly easy stock grinds (except the tier 5), all having decent/good stock guns, and not being too slow or immobile, also not having a large number of modules to research.
Tiers 1-4 are a quick and easy grind. All are fairly similar in the fact that they have good guns, decent mobility, but little armour. All of these tanks also have good gun depression. The stock grinds of these tanks are manageable, though the top gun of the tier 4 tank has quite a high XP cost.
Tier 5 is the Type T-34, basically the USSR T-34 but with the 57mm gun. It has high DPM, quick reload, good accuracy, great penetration, and decent mobility. The tank has poor gun depression and armour but is otherwise enjoyable.
The stock grind is terrible, when stock the tank is very slow, has terrible DPM and penetration, and very poor accuracy.
Tier 6 is the WZ-131G FT, it has very high camo rating, an amazing gun with high accuracy and decent alpha with nice DPM, and good mobility. It has a complete lack of armour and gun depression.
The stock grind is very enjoyable. The tank is a lot slower than when fully upgraded, but its not “unusable”, and its stock gun is amazing.
Tier 7 is T-34-2G FT, it has the 2nd highest camo rating in game (Alecto is highest), with great mobility, and a nice gun with high alpha and DPM. Its not the most accurate and it still lacks armour.
The stock grind is just like the previous tank, its mobility is decent and usable, and its stock gun is great.
Tier 8 is the WZ-111-1G FT, an amazing all-round TD which encompasses the gameplay of the tier 10 tank, but down at tier 8. Its fairly mobile (slower than the tier 6-7 tanks), but now also has some good armour, and a quite an impressive gun. Its very accurate, with decent DPM and alpha, and decent gun depression.
The stock grind is ok, not terrible. The stock gun is actually perfect in all aspects other than its reload time and DPM; just like previous tanks the stock mobility is usable but much worse than when fully upgraded.
Tier 9 is the WZ-111G FT, its the slowest tank in the line, but has once again stepped up in armour, and gained a huge gun mantlet to mount its 152mm gun. The gun is decent in its accuracy and handling for its 640 alpha, has the best penetration in tier, but lacks DPM.
The stock grind again is ok, considering that the stock gun is identical to the top gun of the previous tank, just with a bit more armour; again the mobility is usable, but as this is the slowest tank in the line it will feel quite sluggish when stock.
Tier 10 is the 113G FT, which essentially just completely goes against physics and logic; having both very good frontal and side armour, while also sporting quite insane mobility with high traverse speed and good acceleration. The gun is the same one on the tier 9 tank, but with much better aim time & accuracy, and a quicker reload and higher DPM.
Historical note:
The 113G FT is likely not a real tank. The Chinese heavy tank program ended with the 113, and no real prototype was built, so its not very likely that a self-propelled gun would have been designed based on that chassis.
The 113G FT is actually a great representation of what a TD based on the 113 could have looked like.
It takes design inspiration from the well used ISU-152, which were abundant in the Chinese army in the 1950s-60s.
The placement of the superstructure on the hull, the shape of the gun & crew compartment, the gun mantlet placement and shape (shape is more similar to the ISU-122 tanks), and even the crew placement in the tank are all very similar to the ISU-152.
China had many ISU-152s in its army from the 1950s-60s, so its quite realistic that any indigenously designed tank would have taken great inspiration from the ISU-152, and just used a different hull.
Name:
WZ-113G FT is a fairly accurate guess at what this tank would be named if it had actually been built.
W: 武器 (wu qi), meaning weapon
Z: 装甲战车 (zhuang jia zhan che), meaning armoured vehicle
113: Industrial designation for the tank (in this case, the hull its built on)
G: 改 (gai), meaning change or modification, likely referring to the modified 113 hull
F: 反 (fan), in this case meaning anti
T: 坦 (tan), meaning tank
(Contrary to popular belief, FT does not stand for “fake tank” in the Chinese TD names, it stands for “anti-tank”, referring to them being tank destroyers)
There is a small chance that the WZ-113G FT was a real tank design.
This is due to most Chinese tanks of the 1950-present period still being classified, and any info on any Chinese tank (even the real ones like WZ-111) are extremely hard to find.
Every turretless Chinese TD in WoT and WoT Blitz were presented to Wargaming by KongZhong, the owner of the WoT China server.
There’s a very small possibility that KongZhong used real documents to create these Chinese TDs for the game, just that no one outside of KongZhong or CN government knows about these documents. However, this is the only scenario in which there is a possibility for any of the WoT Chinese TDs to be real.
The 113 heavy tank itself was a real design, so if it exists, then the chance of a TD based on it is ther, even if that chance is extremely small.
Potential inaccuracies:
The gun the tank in game mounts is the 152mm 59-152JG FT (152mm Type 59-152J Mod. Anti-tank).
For one, this gun looks a lot like a longer version of the ISU-152’s ML-20, which was a very outdated armament from 1937.
The “Type 59 152mm” is also not a real gun, China had no gun with such a designation.
A more correct main gun for the 113G FT would be the 152mm Type 66, a licenced copy of the Soviet-designed D-20 gun (the main gun of the Obj.268).
This was a gun that China did actually have at the time, and would have been a more likely consideration if China did build this TD.
