The Brennos is a tier 8 French heavy tank with mediocre armour, high top speed with good acceleration, and a choice of 2 different guns.

Armour when facing head on:
Upper plate center 240-260mm
Upper plate shoulders 310-320mm
Lower plate 145mm
Turret cheeks 335mm
Gun mantlet 310-330mm
Left cupola 125mm
Right mini-turret 140-175mm
Rangefinder weakpoints 120mm

vs 225mm AP (top image), 265mm APCR (bottom image)
Using -8 gun depression:
Upper plate center 295-315mm
Upper plate shoulders 385mm
Turret cheeks 286-375mm
Gun mantlet 310-330mm
Left cupola 135mm
Right mini-turret 150-195mm
Rangefinder weakpoints 120mm
Side armour:
Side armour is 55mm, the sideskirts are visual only and not spaced armour.
Armour performance:
Strong areas:
-The turret is overall very strong (minus the cupolas) as long as facing front.
-The “shoulders” on the edge of the front plate are also very strong when the hull is not turned.
Main weakpoints:
-The center area of the upper plate is weak to most enemies. Tanks with under 215mm AP will see more red if the hull isn’t turned.
-Both cupolas on the top of the turret are very weak to all enemies and won’t bounce anything.
-The lower plate is weak to all enemies and HESH shells.
Autoloader gun
Firepower:
-Ammo: AP/APCR/HE.
-Penetration: 218/265/60mm.
-Alpha damage: 340/290/420.
-Reload time: 18.1s
-Shells: 2
-Intra-clip: 3.00s
-DPM: 1933
Handling:
โEstimated aim time: 3.9/4.3s
โBase aim time: 2.5s
-Dispersion: 0.380/338
–Gun handling: 0.2/0.2/0.14
-After-shot dispersion: 4.000
Usability:
-Shell velocities: 900/1350/900 m/s.
-Gun depression is -8 degrees, except the rear which is -6 degrees.
Overall this gun is decent. Its not great but not terrible.
Compared to other 105mm autoloader HT in tier 8, its 340 alpha is above average with its 3s intra clip, however it has 1 less shell in the magazine, with quite a slow reload for only 2 shells. Its accuracy is also very lacking at 0.38, so despite average aim time and gun handling, you still sometimes miss random shots that shouldn’t.
Cyclic Gun
Firepower:
-Ammo: AP/APCR/HE.
-Penetration: 218/265/60mm.
-Alpha damage: 340/290/420.
-Reload time: 9.2s
-DPM: 2209
Handling:
โEstimated aim time: 3.9/4.3s
โBase aim time: 2.5s
-Dispersion: 0.353/0.314
–Gun handling: 0.2/0.2/0.14
Usability:
-Shell velocities: 900/1350/900 m/s.
-Gun depression is -8 degrees, except the rear which is -6 degrees.
Just like the autoloader gun, this 105mm is decent for tier 8. Compared to other 105mm cyclic guns, the Brennos has 30 extra alpha while still having decent DPM, aim time, and gun handling.
Mobility
Raw stats:
-Forward speed is 45km/h.
-Reverse speed is -15km/h.
-Raw acceleration rate is 17.4 hp/t.
-Engine power is 1131hp for its 65 ton weight.
–Terrain resistances are 1/1.4/2
Hard terrain mobility:
-Actual acceleration is 17.4 hp/t.
-Traverse speed is 35.45 deg/s.
Medium terrain mobility:
-Actual acceleration is 12.4 hp/t.
-Traverse speed is 25.3 deg/s.
This mobility is good for a HT, but nothing incredible. The poor traverse speed and acceleration on medium terrain severely damage the mobility profile of the Brennos, as it is very agile on hard terrain and can make use of its great top speed.
Reverse speed is also quite slow for a HT which is so large and lacking in armour.
Special Consumables

This loadout takes advantage of the tank’s strengths on both options.
Improved Engine boost is particularly good to negate the worse mobility on medium terrain and get in/out of positions fast.
Tungsten shells boosts alpha damage from 340 to 391, making it much better for trading damage with both guns.
Equipment Loadout
Improved Ventilation/Calibrated Shells:
Either can be a viable choice for both guns on the Brennos, as both have good penetration and decent overall stats.
Vents are good for general better tank/gun performance in small amounts, such as traverse speed, aim time, accuracy, and 4% for reload time.
Calibrated shells improve penetration, allowing you to “aim less” on tanks which have small weakpoints or strong armour.
Improved Assembly/Enhanced Armour:
Either of these can be useful on Brennos, as it has got great base HP, but its armour is still relatively strong when using gun depression or facing lower tier tanks.
Enhanced armour is useful for bouncing more shots from tanks with less than 215mm standard penetration, such as tier 7 tanks, or tier 8 MT/LT.
Improved assembly would increase the HP of this tank from 1900 to 1995, which is useful if you don’t want to rely on the armour at all.
Vertical Stabilizer/Refined Gun:
Either can be a decent choice on this gun, as the dispersion of both guns is quite poor, even for 340 alpha, so refined gun can be quite useful if you generally aim fully before taking shots. Vertical stabilizer is generally better if you don’t always fully aim, as the gun handling of Brennos is quite average, and the bloom when moving can be quite large due to Brennos’ speed and weak armour.
Gameplay advice
Brennos is very much a support heavy. It can somewhat play frontline or hulldown in some cases, but it will immediately start to struggle if facing players that know its weakpoints.
General gameplay:
Brennos is a tank that has to use its gun and speed more than armour to work in battle, which makes it a very odd type of heavy tank to use.
Try to take advantage of the Improved Engine boost to relocate in battles or to reach positions quickly, since the armour of the tank isn’t great but it can instead use its good speed to surprise enemies by repositioning or flanking them.
For the most part, you need to rely on allied tanks taking shots for you, and when an enemy shoots, then you can push out to shoot them.
Note the size of the Brennos, as it is a huge tank with a very long hull, its easily spotted and hard to hide behind cover.
Armour reliability:
Your armour is never reliable in any situation, since even if you use full gun depression and have a strong hull, the turret has huge weakpoints on top.
The hull is generally weak, as it is a pike nose, turning it makes it very weak on one side and strong on the other. Even if you don’t turn the hull at all, tanks with more than 215mm AP penetration can just go through it.
Using gun depression makes the hull very strong, but the 2 cupolas on the turret roof are still visible, so its best to never sit still while hulldown and try to avoid trading against enemies who out-trade you.
Overall
The Brennos is overall a mediocre tank.
| Rating 1-10 | Reason | |
| Armour | 3.5 | Many weakpoints, hard to use. |
| Autoloader gun | 5 | Decent burst but slow reload. |
| Cyclic gun | 5 | Decent DPM & alpha. |
| Mobility | 5.5 | Slow traverse, good acceleration. |
| Top speed | 9 | 45km/h, very good for T8 HT. |
Is it worth getting?
Brennos is not worth getting, its more of a challenge to play than rather than being an enjoyable tank.
Due to its poor armour and massive size, it makes it very hard to know where the tank will work and what it will work against. Also, Brennos is a tank that will feel much stronger against enemies that don’t know what to aim at, as they may not go for the weakpoints, or be baited by the hull’s pike nose.
The Brennos is worth 5,000 gold. The tank is hard to play, its huge, it always has weakpoints in every situation, and its mobility is quite disappointing for its armour. Despite having decent/average guns, they aren’t good enough to balance out the downsides of this tank.
