Armour
(The 112 in the images is using Enhanced Armour)

vs 265mm APCR
When facing head on:
Upper plate 285-305mm
Lower plate 215mm
Turret 290-540mm
Gun mantlet 400mm+
Hatches 175mm
VS tier 7:
Against tier 7 tanks, the 112 has no weakpoints on its front. The lower plate is strong to every enemy you face (other than USA, German, and French HT, which have around 200mm AP), and to even have a chance of penetrating the lower plate, most enemies will need to use premium ammunition.
If the 112 is angled up, then even most premium ammunition cannot penetrate.
VS tier 8:
The 112 remains very strong in tier 8. Lower penetration tier 8 tanks (with under 200mm AP penetration) will not be able to reliably got through the lower plate of the 112, as the tank can just angle easily. Even if the tank is not angled enemies will struggle.
Higher penetration tier 8 tanks with around 210mm+ will be able to fairly reliably go through the lower plate. However it is still worth angling up so make it stronger. The hatches are weak to tier 8 tanks, but the upper plate and turret are impenetrable to all tier 8 enemies.
VS tier 9:
The upper plate and turret are both still extremely strong against all tier 9 tanks, and even enemy premium ammo will struggle, especially if the tank is angled.
Most tanks can penetrate the lower plate fairly easily, but angling will increase the chances of this, especially against the lower penetration mediums.

vs 265mm APCR
In a sidescraping position.
The 112 can sidescrape, to a degree.
Its whole side and upper plate will appear red to enemies like this, but you can see that bar of armour above the tracks.
This is 30mm spaced armour, however, unlike the IS-3 or WZ-111, its not angled behind this 30mm, its just flat.
This causes the double overmatch mechanic to come into effect, increasing the enemy’s shell normalization upon hitting the spaced armour, and then that shell travels through to the actual armour.
That actual armour is only 80mm thick, and the increased normalization from double overmatch means that most enemies can penetrate this area.

vs 192mm AP
Against lower penetration tanks the lower plate will often show up red.
In this case, 192mm is the exact amount of penetration needed to go through the lower plate when you account for AP’s 5 degree normalization. So each shot fired had a roughly 50% chance to penetrate.
Generally if you have around 200mm penetration, the lower plate is a reliable weakpoint. If you don’t have that much penetration, its not reliable as the 112 could easily angle to increase its armour.
Gun
The 112 has a 122mm gun
-Alpha damage is 400 on APCR, 340 on HEAT, and 500 on HE
-It has a 11.8s reload giving it 2036 DPM
-Penetration on APCR is 215mm, HEAT is 270mm, and HE is 61mm.
-Aim time is 5.7s/6.1s
-Dispersion is 0.389/0.350
–Gun handling is 0.25/0.25/0.14, or 0.21/0.21/0.12 with Vertical Stabilizer.
-Gun depression is -6 degrees.
This gun has identical stats to the WZ-112-2, so if you’ve played that tank, you know what you’re in for.
Overall this gun is the worst gun on any tier 8 heavy tank (along with the WZ-112-2 and IS-5). Its inaccurate, it aims for ages, the gun blooms enormously when you move, and despite all this it doesn’t have impressive DPM or penetration to compensate for the downsides.
When you play with this gun, you will notice it miss a lot, and just be in general, very unreliable. Its not at all enjoyable to use this gun.
Mobility
-Top speed is 32km/h forwards, and -15km/h in reverse
-Traverse speed is 38.7 deg/s on hard terrain, and 27.7 deg/s on medium terrain.
-In game acceleration rate is shown as 14.8 hp/t, it has a good 679hp engine for its 46 ton weight.
-Actual acceleration rate is 14.8 hp/t on hard terrain, and 10.5 hp/t on medium terrain.
–Terrain resistances are average, at 1/1.4/2
Overall the 112 is a fairly mobile heavy. It has good acceleration rate, fairly good traverse speed, and decent ground resistances. Its able to reach its top speed and stay there very easily. Unfortunately that top speed isn’t very high, but its still decent enough and usable in battle.
Equipment, provisions, & consumables
The 112 has no special consumables or provisions.
Gun Rammer:
The 112 does not struggle with penetration at all. Though 215mm APCR is not that impressive, the 112 still carries great HEAT ammunition with 270mm of penetration, which is enough for dealing with almost any enemy.
Its much better to use a gun rammer, which will give this tank an 11.8s reload, and with 400 alpha that gives it 2036 DPM.
Improved Assembly/Enhanced Armour:
112 can work well with enhanced armour if you want to improve the lower plate of this tank against lower penetration enemies. It increases the lower plate from 210-220mm effective armour, up to 218-231mm ( 5.6mm base thickness increase from 140mm to 145.6mm).
However, if you go hull down and hide the lower plate, enhanced armour will literally not make any difference on this tank. If you think that enhanced armour won’t be as beneficial with the way you want to play the tank, take improved assembly. This will improve your HP from a decent 1800 base, up to 1908 HP.
Vertical Stabilizer:
The 112 has some of the worst gun stabilizations tats in tier 8. If you aren’t doing everything you can to improve it, your gun will probably not even feel like it is playable. Use vertical stabilizer to improve this tank’s gun performance during close quarters brawls and fights, its far more beneficial than using refined gun.
Gameplay advice
The 112 has an extremely simple playstyle. Basically its just a generic heavy tank with great armour and poor gun depression. If you have played other 122mm heavies then you will know exactly how to play the 112.
The 112 is a bit different to some other tanks though:
-It should angle to get bounces on the lower plate.
-It should facehug enemies, its upper plate is still extremely strong, and the hull is very low profile, meaning most tanks can’t even aim down onto it; and those that can generally don’t have enough gun depression to deal with it.
-It can use gun depression positions in some situations. Check here for a guide.
Other than this it is literally identical to the other 122mm heavy tanks in tier 8 in terms of their playstyle and gameplay.
Overall
Overall the 112 is a decent tank. While it has great armour and good mobility, it is most certainly being held back by the worst gun of any tier 8 heavy tank, and a fairly limited top speed; though out of these two, the biggest issue is the gun.
The armour is very strong, its very easy to get bounces on the turret and the upper and lower plates. Unfortunately it can’t sidescrape too well as it has that bar along the side which is a weakness. The gun is just bad due to being so inaccurate and inconsistent, but it has decent DPM and alpha damage. The mobility is quite good, especially when you consider the armour, but its held back by a mediocre top speed.
Is it worth getting?
The 112 is not really worth getting. The biggest reason would be its gun, as it will just frustrate you playing it. Even though it has great armour and decent mobility, you often cant take proper advantage of them since your gun just constantly misses.
112 also has loads of tier 8 122mm heavy tank competition, which just makes its poor gun and boring playstyle an additional downside.
If this tank really looks that great to you, then go for it, its decent enough and is usually fairly cheap.
If you are put off by the low top speed and inconsistent gun, but the overall design interests you, consider the much more reliable WZ-111 instead.
Definitely don’t consider the WZ-112-2 as an alternative to the Glacial 112. Its suffers from the same problems, but instead of low top speed, it just has bad mobility overall, and a worse armour profile with the exact same gun as the 112.
The 112 Glacial is worth 5,500 gold. Its often sold for around this price, so you shouldn’t need to worry about overpaying. The tank itself is decent, and like any tank it can have those battles where it just works.

Historical info:
The 112 is a real Chinese heavy tank. It was brought to life after the WZ-111 showed suspension and mechanical issues during trials.
112 was to use a “regular” front plate (as in flat and uniform, unlike the WZ-111), and to have large diameter roadwheels with no return rollers.
It was also to use a 120mm smoothbore gun. The only such gun China had at the time was the 120mm Smoothbore from the WZ-122 MBT, which gun would give the 112 an incredible firepower upgrade over the 122mm D-25T guns that China was using on their IS-2s and IS-3s.
It was also proposed to mount a 152mm gun, though this would have been difficult to achieve due to China’s industrial level at the time.
The 112 lead onto the 113, a more medium-like heavy tank which had a mid-mounted turret and a 130mm gun, but using essentially the same hull as the 112.
The name of this tank is just 112. There is no WZ designation as it never actually became a “weaponized armoured vehicle” (which is what WZ translates to), and stayed in the blueprint stage.
This is the same for the 110 and 113. WZ-111 progressed past the blueprint stage and was actually built, so its name got changed from 111 to WZ-111.
If WG gave this tank the correct armament (120mm smoothbore), it would probably be a far more enjoyable tank to play. The 152mm gun version is also a very interesting option.
