Nemesis

Last updated on 15 January, 2026.

Nemesis is a tier 8 British medium tank. It features a high-alpha autoloader gun with HESH shells, but slow intra-clip. Its armour is very strong, but only on the front, and its mobility is limited by a low top speed.

Armour

(Nemesis in the images is using Improved Assembly)

Drag slider right -> to view 210mm AP
Drag slider <- left to view 255mm APCR

Armour when facing head on:
Upper plate 285-295mm
Lower plate 120mm

Turret 240-320mm (weakest points 220mm)
Cupola 85mm

Side armour:
The side armour of this tank is 32mm with 10mm spaced armour. This is extremely poor, and easily penetrable to any enemy with even the slightest amount of hull angling.

vs 255mm AP (top image), 325mm HEAT (bottom image)
Using -8 gun depression:

Upper plate 420-460mm
Turret 275-360mm (weakest point 220mm)
Cupola 80mm

Armour vs all tier 9-10 tanks:

Strong areas:
-The upper plate is extremely strong for a medium tank and is able to bounce standard ammo from most enemies. Its very sharply angled, so any enemies who are above you or able to look down on the upper plate can greatly reduce the effectiveness of it.

-The turret overall is also very strong, the only weakpoints are directly next to the gun and on the right side turret cheek, otherwise its quite strong (minus the cupola).

Main weakpoints:
-The lower plate is extremely weak, even penetrable to HESH ammo.

-The cupola is massive and weak to all enemies, its very hard to hide it and even sticks out when using full gun depression.

-The hull sides will get overmatched by any gun as they are only 32mm thick.

Gun

Nemesis mounts a 110mm autoloader gun.

Firepower:
-Ammo: AP/HESH/HE
-Penetration: 188/152/67mm.
-Alpha damage: 350/440/480
-Reload time: 16.3s
-Shells: 3
-Intra-clip: 7.00s
-DPM: 2079 (2614 on HESH)

Handling:
Estimated aim time is 3.3/3.5s
Base aim time is 2s, but it can get down to 1.54s.
-Dispersion is 0.353/0.300
Gun handling is 0.18/0.16/0.14, or 0.16/0.14/0.12 with Vertical Stabilizer.

Usability:
-Shell velocities are 850/650/650 m/s.
-Gun depression is -8 degrees around the entire tank, except the rear where its -0 degrees.

Overall this is a good gun. The damage output for a medium tank is MASSIVE, despite a slow 7s intra clip, it doesn’t really matter if you only put 1 shot into an enemy, since no other medium can out-trade your 440 alpha. Considering that, its accuracy, aim time, and dispersion are decent, but nothing impressive.

The very low penetration does hold it back against certain enemies (especially tier 9 HT), but generally isn’t a massive issue with good game knowledge. The largest limiting factor of the gun is slow shell velocity, which makes it very easy to miss shots at even medium range, especially on moving tanks.

Mobility

Raw stats:
-Forward speed is 41km/h.
-Reverse speed is -17km/h.
-Raw acceleration rate is 21.4 hp/t.
-Engine power is 855hp for its 40 ton weight.

Hard terrain mobility:
-Actual acceleration is 21.4 hp/t.
-Traverse speed is 54.9 deg/s.

Medium terrain mobility:
-Actual acceleration is 16.4 hp/t.
-Traverse speed is 41.5 deg/s.

Terrain resistance stats:
Terrain resistances are 1/1.3/1.5

Overall this mobility is decent. The top speed is terrible, and reverse speed is slow. However, the good engine power means that the Nemesis is overall quite agile and almost always maxxing out its top speed.

Special Consumables

Nemesis has access to the improved engine power boost consumable.

Its definitely needed on this tank due to the limited top forward & reverse speed of Nemesis. This consumable increases your top speed by +4/-8 and massively boosts your acceleration rate.

Equipment Loadout

Calibrated Shells:
Calibrated shells are mandatory on this tank, as the penetration is so low, and it uses HESH & HE often in gameplay.

Calibrated shells increases penetration on:
AP from 188mm -> 203mm
HESH from 152mm -> 164mm
HE from 67 -> 72mm

Improved Assembly:
Nemesis’ armour black-and-white. The upper plate & turret front are so strong that they don’t benefit from being stronger, but the lower plate & cupola are so weak that they get no use out of being stronger. So enhanced armour isn’t useful on this tank.

Improved assembly would increase HP from 1350 to 1404.

Supercharger:
This is one of the few tanks where not using GLD (Gun Laying Drive) will actually help your accuracy much more in most cases. The base aim time of this tank is actually quite good, but the shell velocities of all shells are quite poor, especially on HESH, which you want to try use a lot.

Hence why GLD isn’t needed, instead supercharger is more useful as it allows your shots to hit where you aim, especially on on moving targets.
Supercharger increases shell velocity of:
AP from 850 -> 1148m/s
HESH from 650 -> 878m/s
HE from 650 -> 878m/s

Vertical Stabilizer/Refined Gun:
Due to needing supercharger on this tank, and having both pretty average accuracy & gun handling, both of these can work on Nemesis, but what will feel better will depend on how you play (so try both in battle to get a feel for each equipment).

Gameplay advice

Gameplay of the Nemesis is quite unique due to its low penetration, strong armour,  and autoloader, there are essentially no other tanks that are comparable in playstyle.

General gameplay:
Despite strong armour, always try to use the Nemesis against medium tanks, as that’s where the strength of having heavy-like armour will really show. Using this tank on the HT side of the map will generally be a challenge unless you flank enemy HT, as low penetration will be an issue against HT armour.

Generally, try to use this tank hulldown wherever possible, and avoid turning the hull or angling if possible. The armour only has 2 main weakpoints, which are the lower plate and the cupola.

Using the speed boost:
Only use the speed boost when you really need it, as the cooldown is relatively slow.
Its main uses will be for faster top speed and faster reverse speed, which are both quite limited on the Nemesis.

Use it to get into positions at the start of a battle (such as crossing an open area to reach a position), retreating from a flank, or just reversing quicker to get into cover (reverse speed with the consumable increases to 25km/h).

Using the autoloader:
Always retreat into cover after a shot, since the intra-clip reload of 7s is too long to stay exposed to enemies for, and you’ll often take damage in that time.

Treat it like a regular gun that has a relatively quick reload, shoot, fall back, then push forward again to shoot.

Don’t wait to reload:
Unlike other autoloaders, the intra-clip reload time of the Nemesis is slow, so in some situations its better to just instantly reload the entire mad, rather than wait 7s, then reload.

In situations where you can be quite confident that another shot won’t be needed, just reload. That 7s intra-clip is almost half of the total magazine reload time, so its not worth waiting unless you know you’ll need that next shot.

Use HESH and HE:
Generally its best to pre-load HESH at the start of a battle. Its always faster to switch from HESH to AP than it is to have AP pre-loaded, switch to HESH, realize you can’t pen, then switch back to AP again.

Despite low penetration on the HESH shells, its able to penetrate the side armour of nearly all tanks, and the front armour of many LT and MT.
440 alpha of HESH will out-trade every medium tank you face, and compared to AP does extra 90 dmg per shot, which is a huge increase.

The HE is also very useful, as its quite high penetration and very usable against the side/rear of many tanks, and does 480 damage, which will even negate the effects of tanks using spall liner.

Overall

Armour – 7/10
Gun – 7/10
Mobility – 5/10
Speed – 3.5/10

Nemesis is overall a good tank.

Armour is very reliable on the upper plate and turret, but with a large cupola & lower plate. Sides are easily overmatchable.
Gun has great alpha damage, good DPM, decent accuracy & aim time, but low penetration and slow shell velocity. Gun depression is -8 degrees.
Mobility is decent, with good acceleration rate, but unimpressive traverse speed, and a fairly slow -17km/h reverse speed.
Speed is poor for a medium, at 41km/h.

Is it worth getting?

The Nemesis likely won’t be worth it for most players. There are a few points which are definite drawbacks, such as top speed, the large cupola, the slow intra-clip, or the low penetration, which many players just won’t be able to cope with.

However if you like tanks with huge damage output (which this is, its not too uncommon to get a full magazine of 3×440 dmg) and reliable frontal armour, then Nemesis could be worth it for you.

The Nemesis is worth 8,000 gold. Its a very niche tank which not every player will enjoy, but it does have some very unique traits which make it worth playing and can be definite advantages over other medium tanks.
