Armour
(The Panther/M10 in the images is using Improved Assembly)

vs 160mm AP
When flat and facing head-on:
Upper plate 138-143mm
Lower plate 138mm
Turret 105-135mm
VS tier all 6-8 tanks:
Some tier 6 medium tanks may bounce off the upper plate when the tank is angled, but this isn’t reliable.
All other tanks will easily penetrate the Panther/M10 though, so just don’t rely on the armour. Sometimes it may get an odd bounce, but its usually just from bad aim by enemies.
The side armour of this tank is not tragic (unlike the Pudel), with 50mm above the tracks, and 40mm behind the tracks. This means that its side armour can actually stand up to the most common gun calibers HE shells.
Some players may try to shoot HE at the tank, as it has visual elements covering the upper plate, lower plate, and turret sides, which make it look grey to HE, but its not, its just badly modelled armour.
Gun
The Panther/M10 mounts an 7,5 cm gun
-Alpha damage is 160 on AP, 135 on APCR, and 200 on HE
-It has a 3.7s reload, giving it 2591 DPM
-Penetration on AP is 160mm, APCR is 205mm, and HE is 20mm.
-Aim time is 2.9/3.2s
-Dispersion is 0.290/0.261
–Gun handling is 0.13/0.13/0.06, or 0.11/0.11/0.05 with Vertical Stabilizer.
-Gun depression is -8 degrees
This gun is very good all round, it has decent penetration, good DPM, and amazing accuracy and shot consistency.
This gun’s alpha damage is quite low though, and it sometimes struggles to output damage due to this.
Mobility
-Top speed is 55km/h forwards, and -20km/h in reverse
-Traverse speed is 62.5 deg/s on hard terrain, and 52.1 deg/s on medium terrain.
-In game acceleration rate is shown as 20 hp/t, it has a very strong 920 horsepower engine for its 46 ton weight.
-Actual acceleration rate is 20 hp/t on hard terrain, and 16.7 hp/t on medium terrain.
–Terrain resistances are great, having 1/1.2/1.8
Overall the mobility of the Panther/M10 is decent, but nothing amazing. It has nice top speed and decent traverse speed, but has quite unimpressive acceleration for a medium tank. Its definitely mobile enough for a 46 ton vehicle.
Equipment, provisions, & consumables
The Panther/M10 does not have any special provisions or consumables.
Gun Rammer:
The Panther/M10 has decent penetration, though for its alpha, it has lower DPM than all of its competition. For this reason you should use a gun rammer, as this tank fights on the MT flank and often faces these higher DPM enemies.
Its better to use a gun rammer on this tank, it will lower the reload time from 4s down to 3.7s, and increase its DPM from 2410 to 2591.
Improved Assembly:
The Panther/M10 has no armour, so don’t used enhanced armour, it doesn’t help the tank.
Use improved assembly, it takes the HP of the tank from 1300 up to 1378.
Vertical Stabilizer:
As the Panther/M10 has already got extremely good accuracy (best in tier 7 mediums), there isn’t any need to improve it. Its better instead to take the vertical stabilizer, which gives the tank a more consistent gun after its been moving, and as the tank does not sit passively and snipe in tis playstyle, its more important to use the stabilizer.
Gameplay advice
The Panther/M10 just plays like a Pudel, but in tier 7. Its large, has no armour, but a very accurate gun and with good ramming capability.
Trade in DPM:
Try to put in 2 shots for every 1 that the enemy shoots. Your reload is faster than most other enemies, the only tanks which you should not do this with are tanks with the same 160 alpha as you, as all other 160 alpha tanks reload faster; and also autoloaders.
Try to remain out of the enemies line of sight:
Though you have high HP for a tier 7 tank, its still not high enough to just allow you to take hits whenever. Your tank has no armour at all and is one of the largest vehicles in the tier, you need to try to keep hidden throughout the battle.
If enemies can see you, they will shoot you, and when they shoot you, its very hard to miss a tank as large as a Panther, and its nearly impossible to get a bounce when they do hit.
Ram enemies:
You can ram nearly all enemies you face, as the Panther/M10 weighs 46 tons. The only tanks that outweigh you are heavier tier 8 mediums (Panther II, Panther 8,8, Chimera, M48 Rpz), so you can be pretty confident in ramming medium and light enemies.
Basically just play this tank as a medium, but play carefully, as you have no armour at all, your gun relies on DPM and it cannot trade shot-for-shot, and your tank is enormous.
Overall
Overall the Panther/M10 is a decent, but quite pointless tank. The vehicle is able to perform well, thanks to decent mobility, good DPM, and amazing gun accuracy and handling. It does really lack armour though, and its DPM is just worse than other 160 alpha mediums in this tier.
The main purpose of these low alpha mediums in tier 7 is to output huge amounts of DPM, but the Panther/M10 is just a touch behind its T23E3, Comet, and M41D competition. Its DPM is identical to a T-44-85 which has more alpha, and its armour is less than the tech tree Panther I, so really what’s the point of the Panther/M10?Ā
Is it worth getting?
The Panther/M10 is a tank worth avoiding. If you got it for free from a video container or some other crate, good for you, it can perform decently.
This tank is just not worth spending gold/money on, as its just less fun/less competitive than its competition in tier 7.
The Panther/M10 is worth 2,000 gold. Its an ok tank, it has ok stats, but its not very fun or exciting to play. It doesn’t really have the Panther feel of having any armour, or high penetration. Its only really Panther-like stats are great accuracy and ramming ability.
