Armour

(The ShPTK-TVP 100 in the images is using Improved Assembly)

Drag slider right -> to view 180mm AP
Drag slider <- left to view 53mm HE

When flat and facing head-on:
Upper plates 150mm
Lower plate 100mm

Turret front 95mm
Turret cheeks 130mm

Side armour:
Hull lower sides 40mm (area behind the tracks)
Hull upper sides 60mm (area above the tracks)
Turret sides 40mm

Armour vs tier all tier 7-9 tanks:
The ShPTK-TVP 100 has poor armour against any tank it faces. Its very unlikely to bounce any shells from enemies, due to the tank having weak armour plate but also large size.

Frontally, its not penetrable to most HE, however HESH shells can penetrate easily.

The side armour can resist some HE, with the upper sides being 60mm thick, guns below 120mm in caliber will struggle to penetrate with HE. The turret side and lower hull side (behind tracks) are 40mm, so are easily penetrable to nearly all HE ammo.

The turret rear is 10-20mm, and the hull rear is roughly 42mm effective.

Gun

The ShPTK-TVP 100 mounts an 100mm gun

-Alpha damage is 310 on APCR, 260 on HEAT, and 390 on HE
-It has a 6.2s reload, giving it 2984 DPM
-Penetration on  APCR is 246mm, premium HEAT is 311mm, and HE is 65mm.
Estimated aim time is 2.8/3.0s
Base aim time is 1.8s, but it can get down to 1.47s.
-Dispersion is 0.281/0.253
Gun handling is 0.18/0.08/0.17, or 0.15/0.07/0.15 with Vertical Stabilizer.
-Gun depression is -6 degrees

Overall this is an incredible gun, its DPM is high, it has comfortable alpha damage, amazing aim time, accuracy, and pretty good gun handling. Penetration is high, but average for a TD; and reload is quick for a TD due to its lower alpha.

This gun is just very flexible and comfortable to use in all situations, whether its for sniping, supporting, or playing actively, its got good stats in all the areas it needs to do well in all situations.
The gun also has great standard shell velocity of 1250m/s on its APCR. HEAT & HE are at 1000m/s and 900m/s respectively.

The one downside of this gun is the platform its mounted on, the ShPTK itself. This tank is massive, with a very tall hull and very frontally mounted gun, which makes using its already awkward -6 gun depression, even more awkward.

Mobility

-Top speed is 50km/h forwards, and -20km/h in reverse.
-Traverse speed is 48.4 deg/s on hard terrain, and 37.2 deg/s on medium terrain.
-In game acceleration rate is shown as 18.4 hp/t, it has a decent 415 horsepower engine for its 23 ton weight.
-Actual acceleration rate is 18.4 hp/t on hard terrain, and 14.2 hp/t on medium terrain.
Terrain resistances are 1/1.3/1.8

This is very mediocre mobility for a tank as lightly armoured as this. While it has great top forward and reverse speed, along with good hard terrain traverse speeds and acceleration; its much slower on medium terrain. The terrain resistances of 1/1.3 cause the ShPTK-TVP 100 to be very noticeably slower on medium terrain, and it has very mediocre mobility on this terrain type (which is the most common terrain in the game).

Equipment, provisions, & consumables

The ShPTK-TVP 100 only has spall liner as a special provision/consumable.

Spall Liner has limited use on this tank.

Since the ShPTK has enough frontal armour to resist all standard HE rounds, the spall liner only helps you when being shot in the hull/turret sides, or against tanks with premium HE, HEP, or HESH shells (only 14 tanks between tier 7-9 shoot such shell types).

If you really feel that its needed, then use spall liner. But the situations where you get penetrated by HE shells are rare, and you don’t face HESH guns too often (also since not every tank has HEP/HESH, they are easier to notice and avoid).

Gun Rammer:
The ShPTK-TVP 100 has an incredible gun in all aspects, both with great penetration and great overall handling/accuracy. This means you don’t struggle to hit enemies, aim for weakpoints, or to penetrate them, so there’s no need to use calibrated shells.

Use gun rammer, since the high DPM and quick reload is one of the defining traits of the ShPTK, and you need gun rammer to be able to take advantage of that.
Gun rammer would lower the reload time 6.7s down to 6.2s, and increase the DPM from 2775 to 2984.

Camouflage Net:
Due to the ShPTK having fairly low camo rating for a TD, and being a large tank, it gets spotted very easily. Camo net is essential on this tank, since in gameplay it wants to try stay hidden so it can avoid damage and surprise enemies.

With camouflage installed, a level 7 camouflage crew skill, and when using camo net, the ShPTK-TVP 100 has a 61% camo rating when stationary, 49% when moving, and 14% after firing.

Improved Assembly:
Since the ShPTK has no armour at all to standard ammo, and has spall liner if you want HE/HESH protection, use improved assembly to increase the HP of the tank.

For a tank without armour, the ShPTK actually has quite high base HP of 1200, and improved assembly would increase this up to 1272.

Vertical Stabilizer:
Due to having already amazing base dispersion, the ShPTK doesn’t need refined gun. Its already the most accurate tank in tier 8.

The tank gains much more benefit from vertical stabilizer due to its poor dispersion when turning the turret. This causes the gun to bloom out more than on most other tanks, even when the tank isn’t moving its hull. Vertical stabilizer also helps when the tank does need to reposition or move, since it helps the tank to retain more of its accuracy and aim in quicker after moving.

Gameplay advice

The ShPTK-TVP 100 is a sniper tank destroyer.

Though it has a turret and decent mobility, its not very suited to playing the support role. Its alpha damage isn’t great for damage trading, and it has an extremely awkward gun platform for more active gameplay.

General gameplay:
Start the game out as a sniper. Due to large size, poor camo rating, & weak armour, you want to avoid being aggressive at the beginning of the battle and risk losing HP.

Choose positions close to hard cover, and ideally with a bush. Bushes will help the tank to remain hidden better and not be spotted by light or medium tanks. The hard cover (rocks, buildings, ruins, etc) will allow you to retreat and avoid damage when you do get spotted.

After the initial stages of the battle, you can reposition to different sniper spots, or take positions on open flanks to put in shots into enemies from different angles. You can also support allied mediums by playing 2nd line, but still avoid over-extending and try to avoid being damaged.

Positioning:
The best positions for this tank are on flatter areas, since it has such a tall hull with such poor gun depression, even a very small area of uneven terrain will make the gun point up and unable to hit the enemies.

Use sniping locations which are further from enemies, rather than closer. The ShPTK gets spotted very easily, and its poor mobility makes it hard to run away. The large size also means its very easy to hit, even for inaccurate enemies.

Don’t take snap shots:
Aim shots well, since the ShPTK has great aim time and accuracy, it gets aimed in very quickly. Don’t just snap shots without aiming, as it has poor turret traverse gun handling, meaning the gun blooms out whenever you move the turret.

Fully aiming, or at least spending some time to aim really benefits this tank. Since its so accurate it can very easily snipe small weakpoints and hatches once it gets aimed.

Utilize HE:
Though the HE damage isn’t as impressive as other 310 alpha guns, it does have great penetration at 65mm, which allows you to penetrate the sides and rear armour of many enemies. This can make the damage of the ShPTK quickly increase due to its amazing accuracy and DPM.

The ShPTK-TVP 100 is mainly a sniper TD, though it can switch to a more active role when it needs due to having a turret and decent mobility. The main points to note with this tank’s gameplay are that its very awkward to position due to its terrible gun depression and large size. Playing actively or even sneakily repositioning is hard due to its terrible camo rating, and mediocre mobility for how little armour the tank has.

Tank gameplay:

Overall

Armour – 3/10
Gun – 8.5/10
Mobility – 4/10
Speed – 5/10

ShPTK-TVP 100 is overall a decent tank.

Armour is poor, being only able to resist HE frontally. The whole tank is weak to AP, sides are HE penetrable, and the tank has terrible camo rating with large size profile.
Gun has great DPM, aim time, reload time, good penetration & gun handling, and amazing accuracy. Alpha damage is low for TD but not bad overall. The gun is only held back by the tank, gun depression is a terrible -6 degrees.
Mobility is average, with a fairly strong engine, with good traverse and acceleration on hard terrain. Medium terrain resistance is fairly poor, and the tank has very mediocre acceleration and traverse on medium terrain. Reverse speed is great at -20km/h.
Speed is good with 50km/h.

What this tank is, is an amazing gun, on a garbage platform. Everything about the gun is good, but anything relating to the actual tank, like armour, mobility, size, etc., is all either mediocre or bad.

Is it worth getting?

ShPTK-TVP 100 is not worth getting. While it offers a unique package of a great gun, a fully turning turret, and very high DPM, this is all on a very awkward and just terrible gun platform. It has essentially no armour, terrible gun depression, a very tall hull, large size, and poor camo rating. Its mobility is “decent” when looked at overall, but for how little armour the tank has, it barely even qualifies as “decent”.

The ShPTK-TVP 100 is worth 6,000 gold. Its not a special tank, despite it being unique for tier 8. It basically has similar features to a Hellcat, just with the good gun depression, mobility, small size, speed, and camo rating all removed. Instead it gains some alpha damage and accuracy, which makes it a pretty good sniper, but very awkward to use in nearly all other situations.

This tank isn’t bad, and it definitely has a situation where it can really thrive. Overall its a fairly mediocre vehicle. Great gun, semi-decent mobility, bad everything else.
