Armour when facing head-on:
Upper-upper plate 230-240mm auto-ricochet
Mid-upper plate 155mm
Mid-lower plate 100mm
Lower-lower plate 130mm

Turret cheeks 295-315mm
Weakpoint around mantlet 210mm
Gun mantlet 490-520mm

vs 299mm AP (top image), 380mm HEAT (bottom image)
Using -8 gun depression:

Upper-upper plate 530-560mm auto-ricochet
Mid-upper plate 190mm
Turret cheeks 375-400mm
Weakpoint around mantlet 260mm
Gun mantlet 535mm

Armour performance:

Strong areas:
-When using gun depression, the turret cheeks are extremely strong and able to bounce nearly all enemies.
-The upper plate is an auto-ricochet to all AP & APCR ammo, however HEAT can penetrate it on flat ground.

Main weakpoints:
-The turret cheeks are fairly weak on flat ground, especially if turning the turret. The area around the gun mantlet is also very weak.
-The middle areas of the hull front are very weak, to all enemies and HESH ammo only 100-150mm thick.

– Shell 4* โ€“ 3.78s (+3.33s) = 7.11s
-Intra-clip reload: 3.33s

Best DPM:
-Shell 4
-Reload: 3.78s (+3.33s) = 7.11s
-DPM: 3037

Handling:
โ€“Estimated aim time is 3.1/3.3s
โ€“Base aim time is 1.9s
-Dispersion is 0.344/0.306
โ€“Gun handling is 0.16/0.16/0.09

Usability:
-Shell velocities are 840/1360/750 m/s
-Gun depression is -8 degrees.

Overall the Carro 45t has an incredible gun. While accuracy, gun handling, and AP penetration are all unimpressive, the main strength of this gun is the flexibility it has in battle.
The 4 shell capacity means you almost always have shells ready in any situation, and the decent DPM & reload mean that you’re never out of the fight for too long.
The good aim time helps to offset the mediocre accuracy, and good alpha damage helps to take out even high HP enemies.

Mobility

Stats shown as though using 6% Gear Oil.

Raw stats:
-Forward speed is 57km/h.
-Reverse speed is -25km/h.
-Raw acceleration rate is 19.5 hp/t.
-Engine power is 986hp for its 44 ton weight.
โ€“Terrain resistancesย are 1/1.1/1.5

Hard terrain mobility:
-Actual acceleration is 19.5 hp/t.
-Traverse speed is 63.0 deg/s.

Medium terrain mobility:
-Actual acceleration is 17.7 hp/t.
-Traverse speed is 57.3 deg/s.

Overall the Carro 45t’s mobility is decent. Among tier 10 mediums its one of the slower ones, with poor acceleration rate and lower traverse speed, though it does have decent top speeds.

The tank definitely doesn’t feel too slow in battle, especially as it has decent hull & turret armour, but if you only exclusively play tier 10 mediums, it will be less mobile than you’re used to.

Equipment loadout:

Calibrated Shells:
The Carro 45t can worth well with either Vents or Calibrated shells, however Calibrated shells is the more effective option for most cases.
Its better to improve the penetration of the tank to really make each shot count, as this isn’t really a fast-reloading type of tank, it more relies on doing a few shots, then hiding to reload.

Calibrated shells increase penetration on AP from 240mm up to 254mm, APCR penetration from 300mm up to 318mm, and HE from 60mm up to 64mm.

Enhanced Gun Laying Drive:
The aim time of the Carro 45t is already good, but that’s because its compensating with its fairly poor gun handling, hence why the GLD is still very useful on this tank.

Without the gun laying drive, its very hard to get your shots aimed in quickly. Though it doesn’t affect your tank’s accuracy or handling, the gun will definitely feel like it hits a lot less.

If you take a very passive approach to playing this tank, you may find that the supercharger works out better for you. Though its still best to first play it with a GLD, you can test out supercharger later if that really doesn’t work for you.

Enhanced Armour
The main use of enhanced armour is to improve the turret armour.
Its very useful on flat ground when facing medium & light tanks, but also when using gun depression against heavy tanks & TD premium ammo.

Enhanced armour improves the turret cheek armour from 120 to 126mm base, or from 295 to 308mm effective thickness.

Vertical Stabilizer:
Vertical stabilizer benefits the Carro a lot as the gun handling of the tank is unimpressive. It improves the general gun handling in a playstyle where you are active and constantly moving around, andย  for situations when there isn’t time to fully aim in. Vertical stabilizer also decreases the after-shot dispersion, but its not a massive issue for the Carro due to its fairly good aim time.

Gameplay advice

The Carro 45t has a very flexible style of gameplay, which means you can almost play it however you want. It works well as a regular medium, being active and flanking, or hulldown to hold positions, or as support to allies using its big magazine damage.

General gameplay:
Overall the Carro’s gameplay is pretty straightforward, its a regular medium tank with an auto-reloader gun and good hulldown armour.

Try to prioritize using gun depression positions, but never sit still as enemies can still penetrate the area around the gun mantlet. The turret cheeks are impenetrable to nearly all tanks as long as you’re using gun depression.

Try to avoid using the 4th shell in the magazine, as its reload is much longer than the other 3 shells, and using it puts you out of the fight for at least 24s while you reload back to a shell with decent DPM.

How to use the gun?
Generally try to play the Carro like a 2 shot autoloader, thats where tanks like this are really strong. Using 2 shots means you deal 2×360, or 720 burst damage, which out-trades nearly all single-shot guns. Only shooting 2 and not 3 also means you still have 1 “usable” shell left in the magazine, and in an emergency, you can use the reserve shell, which is another 720 damage in total.

Shooting only 1 shell then reloading like a single-shot gun can work, however there’s no point playing like this, as other single-shot tanks will just do it better than you due to having better gun stats and DPM. It removes the huge advantage that the Carro has, which is the flexibility of how it uses the magazine.

Always consider the time needed to reload:
Due to the large magazine, timing you reloads and moves in battle is so important if you want to maximise what you can do with the tank.

-If you’re going to shoot more than 1 shell into the enemy, consider if you do have enough time to reload in that situation, or if its better to continue using the gun on its best DPM shell.
You have to be the judge of when its best to use the magazine, or when its best to only shoot your highest DPM shell.

-The temptation is always there to just unload 3 shells and quickly do 1140 damage, but in some situations doing that is a mistake, since you’re then stuck with your worst DPM shell, and you may be forced to keep using that if enemies are pushing you.

Below are some important times to note in the Carro:

The reload for shooting once is 7.1s
The reload for shooting twice is 12.9s
The reload for shooting 3 times is 19.5s
Time to reload from empty to full is 33.8s.

When to shoot the reserve shell:
You should rarely ever shoot the 4th shell. Firing the 4th shell means that you are out of the battle for a whole 24s until you get back to a shell with a “usable” reload time.
If you do shoot all your shells, don’t reload and then just shoot that last shell again. If you do fire the 4th shell, always wait until you have at least 2 shells before shooting again.

Only use the reserve shell if its really needed, or you know that you have no pressure from the enemy team.
Some situations where you might use it are:
1- You’re about to be killed by an enemy.
2- The game is about to end.
3- You can get an easy 4th shot into an enemy and are in a position that enemies won’t push you.
4- You’re about to completely change flanks, and thus have full time to reload.

Overall

Armour โ€“ 5.5/10
Gun โ€“ 7.5/10
Mobility โ€“ 5/10
Speed โ€“ 5.5/10

Carro 45 t is overall a good tank.

Armour is decent, hull front is troll with auto-ricochet angles. Turret only has armour when using gun depression, but is fairly strong in that scenario. HE/HESH protection is poor.
Gun has great alpha damage, premium penetration, aim time, -8 gun depression, and a large magazine capacity. Its gun handling is mediocre, accuracy is decent, and has fairly slow auto-reload times.
(The gun being a 7/10 rating depends on how you use it. If used correctly, it could be up to 9/10 just due to how flexible you can be with the auto-reloader)
Mobility is decent, with a decent engine power, unimpressive acceleration, and decent traverse speeds. Reverse speed is great at up to -25km/h
Speed is above average, up to 57km/h.

The Carro 45t is one of the most unique tier 10 non-tech tree tanks. It has gameplay that feels like no other tank in the game, and it stands out in tier 10 due to its unique gun system and damage.

The Carro 45t is a very complex tank in both its statistics and gameplay. Its a tank with very high potential to do extremely well, but it requires thinking and planning in gameplay to be able to achieve this. The average player is likely to really struggle or be frustrated by this tank, but great players will be able to make it work very well.

Is it worth getting?

The Carro 45t is not worth it to most players. Its a tank that’s much harder to play than any other medium tank in the game for a multitude of reasons including: being a regular auto-reloader,ย  a large and weak armour profile, having an extremely long reload if you use the full magazine, having to recognise when to fall back, when its the best time to use the gun as a single-shot, or when its best to go auto, controlling situations and buying yourself time to reload.

For these reasons, the Carro is an extremely high skill tank, and without intricate game knowledge, it will be very hard to make the tank work well. Of course that’s not to say that regular players will hate the tank or will never be able to learn how to properly play it; but its just not worth purchasing for most regular players as its more likely to be un-enjoyable.

However, for the experienced players and players who are skilled with regular (not inverse) auto-reloaders, you may really enjoy what this tank has to offer. Its an amazing tank when its played correctly and played well, and its very enjoyable and very unique in gameplay.

The Carro 45t is worth 20,500 gold. This is a very unique tank, and great players and players who like auto-reloaders will be able to perform very well in this tank. It has quite insane late-game carrying potential due to its alpha damage and its clip, along with good mobility; however it requires quite a high-skill level of gameplay consistently do well.
The tank is one of the hardest mediums to play in game, and is definitely not for new or average players.
