Turret 350-450mm (250-285mm at weakest)
Cupolas 195-260mm
Armour vs both tier 9 & 10 tanks:
The armour of the Obj.907 is largely unreliable. Its troll and will bounce shots, but you can’t expect to always bounce or be fully confident in the armour as the turret 2 cupola weakpoints, and 2 weak areas on its cheeks.
To penetrate the turret reliably, enemies will have to have good accuracy. Even if they have good penetration, unless the 907 is very close range, the turret itself is so small that hitting the area they need to penetrate will not be the easiest thing to do. Its easy to miss and accidentally hit a red area.
Side armour:
The sides are angled in a half V-shape, the upper area of the sides are angled inwards, like a “V”, but the lower area (behind the tracks) are flat and un-angled.
The upper half of the upper sides are 60mm, and the other half and lower sides are 40mm. This means that the Obj.907 can sidescrape up to a 70 degree angle against 120mm guns (like the one shooting at the 907 in the images). Guns that are larger than 120mm will overmatch it though.
The size of the tank is a hidden factor which makes the armour harder to deal with than it would seem in these images. This size also comes with camo rating, as the 907 has the highest camo rating of any tier 10 medium tank, with 54/47/11% (with level 7 camo skill and camo paint installed).
Gun
The Obj. 907 mounts a 100mm gun
-Alpha damage is 320 on AP, 270 on HEAT, and 420 on HE
-It has a 5.8s reload giving it 3332 DPM
-Penetration on AP is 245mm, HEAT is 300mm, and HE is 50mm.
–Estimated aim time is 2.8/2.9s
–Base aim time is 1.8s, but it can get down to 1.39s.
-Dispersion is 0.272/0.231
–Gun handling is 0.12/0.12/0.08, or 0.1/0.1/0.07 with Vertical Stabilizer.
-Gun depression is -7 degrees
Overall the DPM is good, alpha is decent, and penetration is average. The gun handling is slightly worse than similar 100mm guns, but this is made up for by having far better accuracy and aim time. Obj.907 able to use the reticle calibration consumable.
Overall this is an incredible gun, its extremely reliable, accurate, fast aiming, and the -7 gun depression with a decent turret just make it so comfortable to use hulldown.
Mobility
-Top speed is 60km/h forwards, and -25km/h in reverse
-Traverse speed is 66 deg/s on hard terrain, and 56.6 deg/s on medium terrain.
-In game acceleration rate is shown as 25.3 hp/t, it has an extremely strong 907hp engine for its 36 ton weight.
-Actual acceleration rate is 42.1 hp/t on hard terrain, and 36.1 hp/t on medium terrain.
–Terrain resistances are very good, having 0.6/0.7/1.5
The mobility of the Obj.907 is very good. The top speed is high, and it has an amazing reverse speed as well. Due to ground resistances and a strong engine, the 907 is also actually able to easily utilize its speed, and great traverse speed means it maintains that speed well.
The Obj.907 has the highest acceleration among tier 10 medium tanks, tied with the Obj.140. The great terrain resistances and high engine power make it extremely agile, and its very noticeable in battle.
Equipment, provisions, & consumables
Obj.907 has Improved Gunpowder and Reticle Calibration.
Provisions:
Use 10% fuel, 10% food, and Improved Gunpowder.
Fuel is important as the 907 has quite a heavy emphasis on its great speed and mobility
Food is a necessity due to the DPM and aim time of the gun, if you don’t use this provision then the tank will quite low DPM and poor aim time.
Improved gunpowder is not a necessity if you think you are able to lead your shells. The base shell velocities of the Obj. 907 are 1015, 900, and 1015m/s on its AP, HEAT, HE shells. This velocity is below average in tier 10, but still not considered “bad”.
Improved gunpowder improves the velocity to 1370, 1215, and 1370. Use this if you aren’t confident with leading shots at long range.
Consumables:
Use adrenaline, multi purpose repair kit, and reticle calibration.
Adrenaline is necessary when you get into an intense situation or have to face an enemy in 1v1.
Repair kit is just essential incase anything on the tank gets damaged.
Reticle calibration essentially allows you to hit your shots with absolute accuracy, and it makes quite a difference on the 907.
Gun Rammer:
Both gun rammer and calibrated shells are valid options to use on this tank. Its best to first try the gun rammer though, as often you will be fighting against mediums, which are lighter armoured than heavy tanks and thus requite less penetration.
Gun rammer gives the Obj. 907 a 5.5s reload with 320 alpha, giving it 3508 DPM.
Calibrated shells will increase the reload to 5.9s with 3262 DPM, but penetration on AP will increase from 245mm to 257mm, HEAT from 300mm to 330mm, and HE from 50mm to 55mm.
Improved Assembly:
Though enhanced armour will add armour to the Obj.907, its not enough to make a huge difference on the tank.
Use improved assembly, as the tank would bounce the same amount of shells anyway, and it allows the tank to absorb more damage when it does get penetrated.
With improved assembly, the Obj.907’s HP increases from 1800 up to 1908.
Vertical Stabilizer:
As the Obj. 907 has the best accuracy in the game (along with other tanks that have 0.272), there is absolutely no need to use refined gun on this tank. This level if accuracy is already better than what all other 300-330 alpha tanks can achieve with refined gun on.
Its far better to use vertical stabilizer, as the gun handling of the 907, while decent, is not quite as good as the other 300-330 alpha mediums, and this is compounded by not having the greatest aim time. Vertical stabilizer is essential on this tank.
Consumable Delivery System:
This will allow your consumables to recharge faster, the reason that this is more useful than the alternative HEC (which gives them longer duration) is that with fast medium tank gameplay, you generally don’t need consumables to last longer.
Instead its more useful that they have a faster recharge so that you can use them in multiple engagements throughout the battle. Unlike a heavy tank, the 907 will get into multiple fights, just due to it being a faster tank with a more active gameplay, and thus its more useful to be able to use these consumables in more of these fights.
CDS also benefits all consumables, even the repair kits (which HEC does not do), so its generall the better choice.
Special Mechanic
The Obj. 907 has the mechanic tracer shells.
This means that every shot that hits an enemy (already spotted) will keep that enemy spotted for 20s (compared to the usual 10s).
This is actually very helpful for having info of what the enemy tanks are doing/planning to do, and many enemies may not realize that they are spotted for 20s.
Its also good as enemies who don’t know about the mechanic, and try to poke out or run away after 10s will be caught off guard and may take a large amount of damage form you/your team.
Gameplay advice
Obj. 907 plays most similarly to the T-62A or the Obj.140.
Though it does have statistical differences, it has many similarities to both tanks. Its an in-between of those two mediums, having less armour than than the T-62A, but more mobility; and more armour then the Obj.140, but less mobility.
Its gameplay is basically just regular, medium tank gameplay, but with a focus on mobility. Get into usual medium tank positions, use gun depression, only expose the turret, never sit still, and let the gun deal damage. Flank enemies when you see opportunities, and coordinate pushes on enemy tanks if your allies are ready to support.
General gameplay:
The Obj.907 has quite standard medium tank gameplay, as its a fairly well-rounded tank.
Its best to take this tank to areas with ridgelines and hills, and fight against medium and light tanks. The troll turret armour profile is most effective when using ridges to increase the amount of gun depression, and the ridges also make it easier to hide the tank.
You can brawl quite effectively with most mediums, due to the good DPM and decent 320 alpha, but its still best to avoid an all-in 1v1 fight, as the armour of the tank is fragile, and if you bounce even once, you lose your chance to win (mostly). Enemies are extremely unlikely to bounce off the 907 if its hull is exposed.
Use gun depression and go hulldown.
As with any strong turreted medium tank, the Obj. 907’s armour becomes stronger when it goes hulldown or uses gun depression, as the weak hull becomes hidden.
The 907 is actually extremely proficient at this as it is the smallest tier 10 medium in terms of size, so it can use many positions to go hulldown. It also has a great -7 degrees of gun depression.
Be aware that this turret is not nearly as strong as the T-62A or T-22 Medium, so you do have to keep moving back and fourth so that its harder for enemies to hit your weakpoints. This will be amplified by the fact that the 907 is so small, and if enemies have poor accuracy it will be even harder for them to hit weakpoints.
Help isolated allies/go after isolated enemies:
Due to the great mobility of the Obj. 907, and its good camo rating, its able to easily and quickly change its position and help out allies where they need it. Alternatively, if a lone tank get spotted, and you know that you will be able to easily take them out, then you should use the tank’s great mobility to easily outmaneuver or chase them down, and remove them from the battle.
Take advantage of the accuracy:
Use the amazing accuracy and aim time of the tank to your advantage. Don’t rush a shot if you don’t need to, since the aim circle is so accurate that you are essentially guaranteed to hit if you aim well.
Do rush shots if you don’t have time to aim, since the Obj.907 can actually hit snap shots quite often due to its great accuracy and aim time.
Overall
Overall the Obj. 907 is a very good tank. It has a fairly strong turret with decent gun depression, and its hull armour can get bounces with gun depression. The gun is good, with decent DPM, good penetration, decent handling, and is extremely accurate. The mobility is also very good, its one of the most mobile tier 10 mediums after the Leopard 1, AMX 30B, and Obj.140; it has great top speeds, very high acceleration rate, and very high traverse speeds as well.
Overall the Obj.907 is just a perfect faster style of medium tank, with a higher focus on its mobility than other areas, but its still able to have a great gun and turret armour profile.
Is it worth getting?
The Obj. 907 is definitely worth considering if you should buy, especially if you really love medium tanks, particularly fast ones. This has decent armour for its mobility, with still a very good gun; which is quite unique, considering other tanks with turret armour are generally slower, and other quick tanks lack in one area (For Leopard 1 and Obj.140 its armour).
The 907 is a very nice, well-rounded tank with good stats in the areas you would want.
You must also consider though, the T-62A and Obj.140 play almost quite similarly, and are free. Their stats are different, but you can get a fairly similar gameplay feel from these 2 tanks.
The Obj.907 is worth 20,000 gold, it takes what’s good from both the Obj.140 and the T-62A, and combines them into one tank. It makes the 907 a very good tank which is comfortable to play, and also quite fun.
Medium tanks are generally not the best tank class for new players to choose, however the 907 does offer everything you need to do well in a medium, so it won’t be too hard to play if you are already familiar with the MT style of gameplay.
