Default ArmourActivated Armour
Upper plate245mm330mm
Lower plate130mm
Cabin front295mm
Hull side (base armour)76mm/160mm76mm/118mm

Side armour:
Base side armour is 76mm.
In default state, 2x 42mm spaced armour plates cover the top of the tracks. When activated, one of the 42mm plates slides down, covering more of the tracks.

Armour Performance:
Strong areas:
-The top & bottom parts of the upper plate are very strong, 330mm thick, and will bounce anything.
-The central area of the upper plate is decent, but penetrable to most tier 8 HT, and nearly all tier 9s with standard ammo. When activating armour, this becomes impenetrable (330mm).
-The cabin front is decently thick but penetrable to premium ammo with high penetration (270mm APCR+).

Main weakpoints:
-The lower plate is very weak to any enemy, and is penetrable to HESH ammo easily.

Gun

Titan Jpanther II mounts a 128mm gun.ย

Firepower:
-Ammo: AP/HEAT/HE.
-Penetration: 236/290/65mm.
-Alpha damage: 420/360/545
-Reload time: 9.1s
-DPM: 2777

Handling:
โ€“Estimated aim time is 3.6/3.8s
โ€“Base aim time is 2.15s, but it can be improved to to 1.66s.
-Dispersion is 0.335/0.285
โ€“Gun handling is 0.17/0.17/0.13, or 0.15/0.15/0.11 with Vertical Stabilizer.

Usability:
-Shell velocities are 890/780/720 m/s
-Gun depression is -5 degrees.
-Gun arc is 10/10 degrees to the left/right.

Overall this gun is decent. Titan Jpanther II is more of a frontline TD, so the gun is balanced more like a half TD/half HT gun. That said, it has good DPM for 420 alpha, with decent penetration on all ammo. The aim time is quite mediocre, but dispersion & gun handling are fairly decent.

One of the worst aspects of the gun is the -5 gun depression, which makes it extremely awkward to use on even slight hills, expecially combined with a rear mounted gun.

Mobility

Raw stats:
-Forward speed is 34km/h.
-Reverse speed is -13km/h.
-Raw acceleration rate is 14.8 hp/t.
-Engine power is 610hp for its 41 ton weight.

Hard terrain mobility:
-Actual acceleration is 14.8 hp/t.
-Traverse speed is 48.9 deg/s.

Medium terrain mobility:
-Actual acceleration is 11.4 hp/t.
-Traverse speed is 37.6 deg/s.

Terrain resistance stats:
Terrain resistances are 1/1.3/1.5

Overall this mobility is decent considering the armour of the tank. Overall for tier 8 tanks, its top speed is fairly limited, more like a heavy tank, with quite slow reverse speed.

The acceleration rate is okay but not great, same goes for traverse speeds.

Special Mechanics

Titan JPanther II has the “Dynamic Armour” consumable, which should be used in your consumable loadout by default as it gives a much bigger advantage in battle compared to other consumables.

Dynamic armour activates spaced armour plates on the tank to move and cover vulnerable areas, while also reducing damage from shots by 10%.

This consumable should be used when facing high penetration tanks (such as TDs or tier 9 enemies), or when pointing the hull down (such as to gain more gun depression).

Equipment Loadout

Gun Rammer:
Titan Jpanther II is a frontline TD, thus having a quicker reload is very useful for brawling and dissuading enemies from pushing. The base penetration of the tank is also already good and can easily deal with most armour you face.

Gun rammer would improve reload time from 9.6s to 9.1s, and increase DPM from 2638 to 2777.

Enhanced Armour:
As the Titan JPanther II is an armour focused tank, its worth using enhanced amour on it.
The main improvement from enhanced armour is on the upper plate, making it harder for standard ammo of tier 8 tanks to go through (or premium ammo from tier 7s).

Vertical Stabilizer:
As Titan Jpanther II is a frontline brawler style of TD, its often turning the hull to get the gun aimed in on enemies, which causes the gun to bloom out quite a bit. Vertical stabilizer helps to improve this and make the gun more consistent for the tank’s role in battle.

Gameplay advice

General gameplay:
The Titan Jpanther II is a frontline TD, you shouldn’t sit back and snipe with it.

In top tier games when fighting only tier 7-8 enemies, the armour is strong and easy to rely on as long as you hide the lower plate. You can easily play frontline or support for your heavy tanks, using the armour to sidescrape, angle, or go hulldown.

When facing tier 9 enemies, the armour can still be troll, however the center of the upper plate is easy to penetrate on flat ground. You can’t really rely on the armour as much without activating the consumable, so try to utilize angling/wiggling when the consumable is not available.

Gun depression:
One of the biggest downsides of the JPanther II platform is the rear mounted cabin.

While its great for angling or sidescraping, its a huge disadvantage when it comes to using gun depression, and in general just getting the gun aimed in on enemies.

Try to keep the tank on flat ground when shooting at enemies, and avoid hills at all costs. Due to the terrible -5 gun depression, combined with a gun that’s mounted quite high on the back of the tank, when you try to use any position with an incline, the hull front props the gun up. This makes aiming on enemies especially hard.

Peeking corners:
Its best to peek corners by reversing out backwards, using a sort of sidescraping angle to get the gun on the enemy. Due to having a rear mounted cabin, peeking around a corner hull-first makes it easy to get tracked (or just take damage), before you can even get turned to aim on the enemy.

Stick to hard terrain:
The mobility of the Titan Jpanther II decreases significantly when it leaves hard terrain, making it easily out-maneuvered. Stay on roads, paths, and paved areas (hard terrain), as it will make the tank much more agile and nimble.

Overall

Armour โ€“ 7/10
Gun โ€“ 5/10
Mobility โ€“ 5/10
Speed โ€“ 4/10

The Titan Jpanther II is overall a good tank.

Armour is weak to HE on the lower plate, and weak to AP on other areas. Poor armour against HESH.
Gun has good DPM for 420 alpha damage, and good gun handling for a TD. Aim time, dispersion, & penetration are all fairly unimpressive. Gun depression is very poor.
Mobility is decent for its armour, with acceleration rate & the decent traverse speed similar to a mobile heavy tank, however reverse speed is slow.
Speed is slow, 34km/h.

Is it worth getting?

Titan JPanther II is worth getting if you like frontline brawling/support TDs, as it fills that role well. Its armour is quite reliable when top tier, and still troll when facing tier 9s. The Dynamic Armour consumable will even make it impervious to tier 9 ammo.

Its not worth getting if you like sniper tanks, or agile/mobile active TDs, as this tank won’t fill either role too well.

The Titan JPanther II is worth 7,000 gold. Its a well-balanced TD with unique traits & gameplay for a tier 8, but its not overly strong or overly weak.
